A website glitch briefly allowed around 60 fans to secure tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup 2026 at no cost.

FIFA said the issue occurred due to a payment error during checkout, causing some tickets to be allocated at “0 USD.” The bookings have now been cancelled, but the same seats remain reserved for affected customers.

Fans have been given seven days to complete payment of the correct ticket price if they wish to retain their tickets. FIFA also said any payments made under the incorrect transactions will be fully refunded.

The incident comes as demand and ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup continue to attract global attention.
