Just got information from our friend Rahul that Arun Gurung, son of Aasha Gurung from Jamuni Ga Bi Sa, has been missing since September 8.
When we called his mother, she shared how the local administration barely cared and how the police didn’t seem concerned at all. She said the ex CDO of Bardiya, made her wait, saying he had meetings, and never followed up properly.
I spoke to Aasha Aama and told her, “If there’s no one standing for you there, we are still here and will raise the voice from here. If the CDO refuses to act, we’ll take this to the Home Ministry.”
She said all she wants is a clear answerwhether her son is even alive or not. With tears in her voice, she said, “This is a mother’s plea to another son, please find your brother.” Hearing that really broke me. It’s painful how easily people are ignored just because they come from smaller communities or have less backing.
Aasha Aama was advised to do a DNA test at Teaching Hospital but is struggling financially. We’ve assured her that we’ll help her if she comes to Kathmandu for further process. I’ve also personally reached out to friends in relevant fields to help find a proper result.
Any kind of help or connection that could support this search would mean a lot.
Thank you.
