Niraj Paudel, Managing Director for the Gopi Krishna Movies said that the decision was taken due to the increasing losses since the Covid-19 pandemic and the existing tax system of the state. The decision comes after a month since the Kathmandu metro authority gave a seven day ultimatum to pay outstanding taxes. Only 150 out of 450 cinema halls remain in operations now.

According to Balram Niraula, the Bagmati province secretary for the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Transport, the final draft of the Ride-Sharing Guidelines is now completed. "We will forward the draft to the ministries of Law, Economic Affairs, and Planning for their approval," Niraula stated. "The draft will be presented to the provincial cabinet after the ministries have approved it." Niraula added the process is will require at-least a month to finish.
