We rode north towards Lake Tekapo, carving our way through endless farmland, rolling hills, and wide-open landscapes that make this part of New Zealand so unforgettable. With perfect weather on our side, the deep blue skies revealed a breathtaking view of Aoraki / Mount Cook standing proudly in the distance, reflected against the stunning turquoise waters of the lake below.

With every kilometre bringing another incredible view, the adventure continued as we arrived at Lake Tekapo and set up camp right on the water’s edge — the perfect spot to soak in the scenery, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and experience another unforgettable night on the road. 🏍️⛰️🌌

Our motorcycle journey continues as we ride from Te Anau to Invercargill, the heartland of New Zealand’s motorcycling history. We arrive during the legendary Burt Munro Festival, where the streets come alive with the unmistakable sound of powerful motorcycles, celebrating the spirit of speed, adventure, and the legend of Burt Munro.

We visit the iconic E-Hayes hardware store, a true treasure trove of Burt Munro memorabilia, including the famous collection that celebrates his incredible story and record-breaking achievements. From there, we explore the Classic Motorcycle Mecca Museum, home to an incredible collection of historic motorcycles, including legendary brands such as Indian, Thor, Harley-Davidson, and BMW — with machines dating back as far as 1905.

No bikes this time...
After riding the Skipper canyon pass in the morning , we parked the bikes, and treat ourself to a cruise on Lake Wakatipu on the TSS Earnslaw steam ship. The boat is over 100 years old, but still cruising on the lake to the beautifull Walter Peak high country farm. Pieter and Adele bring you all the footage of the cruise, from the beautifull mountains to the steam engine room, where coal fires keep the ship moving. We end the day with a great dinner and w**e,, at a restaurant on the wharf.

For the past few weeks, Pieter and Adele have been touring New Zealand’s South Island on their motorcycles. Throughout the journey, Pieter relied on the Carpuride W702BS, while Adele used the more compact W502BS for navigation, music, and hands-free communication.
From early mornings to late evenings — often spending up to 9 hours a day on the road — they tackled gravel roads, mountain passes, and rugged rocky terrain. No matter the conditions, the Carpuride units never missed a beat.
