Let's talk 💬

In the space of 10 - 15 years, hashtags have gone from relatively a zero to a hero. It is the preferred way to organize digital content online and a social media tool we use every single day.

In the pre-internet days, (or as we like to call it, the stone age) what we called the # symbol depended on what country we were raised in. Americans and Canadians called it the pound sign or the number sign, whereas Britons and the Irish called it a hash. However, in the context of the internet, we all call the # a hashtag.

Twitter was probably one of the first platforms to use the hashtag to organise content for us to find easily. After that they organised hashtags into ''Trending Topics'' to help people gain access to information.

Instagram started using it as soon as they launched and it's still a big tool for growing your Instagram to this day.

We always recommend utilising hashtags in your social strategy. This is anything from a branded hashtag to a hashtag about the products or services you provide . There are many tools to help you pinpoint which ones you need to use in your posts & profiles. Contact us if you need help with your social media marketing strategy!

To kick things off, here’s a quick definition of viral marketing:
Viral marketing is a style of promotion that relies on an audience to generate the message of a product or service.
Marketing is considered “viral” when it reaches the point where it’s being shared by the public at large rather than just its target audience. If achieved, your message will be in nearly everyone’s social media feed.
How does viral marketing work, though?
