Attention all property enthusiasts! 📢 If you're considering buying or selling real estate, this update is a game-changer. The New Zealand government has just announced significant changes to the *bright-line property rule*, and it's time to get informed. Here's what you need to know:

1. Reduced Bright-Line Period: From July 1, 2024, the bright-line period will be **reduced to just two years*. That's right! If you sell a property after this date, you'll only need to pay tax on any profit made if you've owned it for less than two years. 📆

2. Main Home Exclusion: Good news for homeowners! The bright-line property rule **does not apply* if you sell your main home. To qualify for this exclusion, you must:
- Use more than 50% of the property's area as your main home.
- Use the property as your main home for more than 50% of the time you've owned it. 🏠

3. Rollover Relief Rules Extended: Associated persons (including companies, relatives, trusts, and partnerships) can now benefit from rollover relief. This means that under certain conditions, you can transfer property without triggering tax implications. 🤝
