Before you buy that couch, appliance or big ticket item... read this first 👀

One of the biggest money lessons I've learned recently? Patience pays 💛

Our couches needed replacing & I was ready to buy the first set that suited our family. Instead, I slowed down, set a budget, compared prices & did my research. And then I waited.

Sometime later, the exact couches I wanted went on sale & we saved hundreds of dollars.

It's a reminder that financial progress isn't always about earning more money. Sometimes it's about making thoughtful decisions with the money you already have.

Before your next big purchase, ask yourself:

- Have I compared prices?
- Have I set a budget?
- Can I wait a little longer?

You might be surprised how much you save.

Week 21 of focusing on Money, Health & Wellbeing 💛

This week started with a lot of stress at work. We're short-staffed at the moment and the workload seemed to ramp up even more with the long weekend approaching.

I kept reminding myself: you can only do what you can do.

So I focused on doing my best, clearing what I could, and leaving work knowing I'd given it my all.

Even with the busyness of work, school, sports and everyday family life, we're still continuing to:

- Pay down debt
- Prioritise our health and wellbeing
- Stay consistent with our daily walks

A small win this week came from taking the time to research new couches for our lounge. Our current ones have definitely seen better days!

Rather than rushing into a purchase, I spent time comparing prices online and was thrilled when the couches I'd been watching went on sale. It was a great reminder that patience can save you money.

The highlight of the week was celebrating our daughter's hard work at school with breakfast of her choice 🥞

We also enjoyed the long weekend without booking an expensive trip away. Instead, we budgeted for a family movie outing and the kids absolutely loved it 🎬

A reminder that special memories don't always need a big price tag.

If you're working on your money, your health or your mindset - you're not alone.

Week 20 of focusing on Money, Health & Wellbeing 💛

Life is still very busy with work, school, sports and everyday family life… but we’re continuing to:
- Pay down debt
- Prioritise our health
- Stay consistent with our daily walks

A small win this week was making time for a little self-care but in a budget friendly way.

Instead of going to the hairdresser like I used to every couple of months, I did a DIY hair colour at home and only went to my usual beauty salon for my eyebrows because she’s affordable and does such a great job.

Honestly, changing little habits like this has saved me SO much money over the years.

This week reminded me that self-care doesn’t always have to be expensive.

The highlight of the week was celebrating birthdays in our family while still staying mindful of our budget.

Simple celebrations… but still special.

If you’re working on your money, your health or your mindset - you’re not alone.

Groceries are so expensive now...

Especially fresh fruit, vegetables & meat. So lately we’ve been trying to be more intentional about where we shop & how we spend when it comes to feeding our family.

Instead of relying only on supermarkets, we’re:
🥦 Using farmers boxes for fresh produce
🥩 Shopping at our local butcher
🛒 Comparing prices before buying

And honestly? The small savings really do add up over time 💛

In my blog post, I share practical ways families can save money on groceries without sacrificing healthy meals (link in comments).

Week 19 of focusing on money, health & wellbeing 💛

We’re definitely getting back into the rhythm of busy family life again with:
- Work
- School
- Sports trainings & games
- Everyday life

But we’re still continuing to:
- Pay down debt
- Prioritise our health
- Stay consistent with our walks

One small win this week came from being more intentional with our grocery spending.

With the cost of fruit, veges & meat continuing to rise at our local supermarket, we looked at different ways to save money instead of just accepting the higher prices.

This week we:
🥦 Used a Farmers Box for fruit & veges
🥩 Bought meat from our local butcher

And honestly? Those little savings really do add up over time.

It reminded me that sometimes saving money isn’t about one huge change - it’s about making small smarter choices consistently.

The highlight of the week was definitely our son receiving Player of the Day after his football team’s win ⚽💛

And of course… we celebrated with breakfast of his choice.

Simple moments like these are the best ones.

If you’re working on your money, your health or your mindset - you’re not alone.

Trying to save money while feeding a busy family can feel overwhelming sometimes…

One thing that has genuinely helped us lately?
Using HelloFresh once a month to make busy weeks easier.

Instead of turning to expensive takeout when life gets chaotic with work, school and sports, having healthy meals already planned has helped us:

- Save money on takeaway spending
- Reduce food waste
- Eat healthier meals at home
- Stay organised during busy weeks

And because we customise the meals to suit our family, everyone actually enjoys them too.

It’s not about being perfect - it’s about finding simple systems that make life easier.

Week 18 Update: Money, Health & Wellbeing 💛

This week started a little stressful with a backlog waiting for me at work from the week before… but thankfully by the end of the week I had managed to catch up.

Even with the busyness of work, school, winter sports trainings & weekend games, we’re still continuing to focus on:

✅ Paying down debt
✅ Daily walks & our health
✅ Being intentional with money

One small win this week was that we still managed to stick to home cooked meals each day instead of turning to takeout like we used to when life got busy.

Keeping organised definitely helped especially with our monthly HelloFresh box which we customise to suit our family. We only use it once a month but it’s been such a nice way to change things up while still having healthy meals everyone enjoys.

And the highlight of the week?

Spending Mother’s Day with my little family.

Starting the morning at my son’s football game, going for a walk together, having breakfast together and later watching a movie using one of our free movie tickets.

A reminder that sometimes the best moments are the simple ones 💛

If you’re working on your money, your health or your mindset - you’re not alone.
