New Zealand has long sat around 80% underinsurance on residential properties. On top of that, there's a further 3% with no insurance at all.
Andy and Brett talk through what happens when an underinsured or uninsured property is hit by an event.
The answer, in Andy's words: "We pay for it in our taxes." The government ends up covering the shortfall.
