Dave and Ryan Jordan, two brothers jump on the pod to talk about their beginnings in the Christian Hardcore scene of the mid 2000's in Hamilton, New Zealand. It's an awesome insight into how religious families can get into objectively extreme music and navigate those sides of life. They've both gone on to front many bands as vocalists from One Must Fall, 21 Guns, Bad Medicine, Regime and now Dave sings for the Break In. In the podcast they their define their own influences and styles and I think this podcast shines a different light on NZHC then previous conversations, I had a good time.

What was your favourite part of this episode?
There was so many for me, at the time Antagonist was blowing up and touring internationally I was a young grom, going to every show and moshing. I’d leave a conversation and run into the pit when I heard Izzy play the These Cities Our Graves drum intro. I knew at the time Antagonsit would go away on tours, but I had my own thing going on as you do when you’re young and didn’t really pay attention unless it was right in front of me. I just wanted to be at the shows, so for me hearing the stories of what they were doing at that time on the podcast really fills In some of the puzzle pieces for me when I look back. I do miss shows at Ellen Melville Hall tho!

The boys are back telling stories from 20 years ago, Josh, Izzy and Boozey recall starting Antagonist and putting work into the band so they could leave NZ shores and get a foot in the door touring internationally! This is a big one but it's worth it, trust me.

It’s here! the Antagonist Origins & Early Touring Podcast! only available on Patreon for the next 2 weeks. These 3 guys are awesome, I was a massive Antagonist fan when I was younger, i’d go to all of the shows and leave a conversation immediately when I heard the “These Cities Our Graves” drum intro. As you may know I was lucky enough to eventually join the band, I’ve played bass and guitar for Antagonist since 2012 and travelled to Australia, Europe and USA on tour.

This podcast documents the beginnings of the band in 2004/5 , from creation to when Josh, Izzy and Boozey all left the band around the same in 2013/15.
