A proud moment for the community as Yajna Singh was crowned Miss Earth New Zealand 2026 at the event held in Auckland on Saturday, 30 May.

Yajnaโ€™s journey is a beautiful example of culture, confidence, and purpose coming together.

She was previously recognised as Miss Personality at Miss India NZ 2024, and today she continues to contribute as a key member of the Miss India South Pacific team, serving as Contestant Coordinator and Trainer.

Beyond the stage, Yajna is a mechanical engineer, dance teacher, and model. She proudly represents the spirit of a South African Indian Kiwi, carrying her identity with grace and strength.

Her passion goes far beyond pageantry. Yajna is committed to inspiring young women in STEM and advocating for education equity in New Zealand.

Her dedication to free and quality education has also earned her the UN Sustainable Development Goal Award and Miss Congeniality at Miss New Zealand 2025.

This is more than a crown. It is a story of leadership, hard work, representation, and community pride.

Webfit News congratulates Yajna Singh and wishes her all the very best as she continues to shine on this new platform.

๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Jacinda Ardern Documentary Wins Emmy, Putting New Zealand Back on the Global Stage

Former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is again in the international spotlight after Prime Minister, the documentary based on her leadership years, won major honours at the 2026 News and Documentary Emmy Awards.

The film follows Ardernโ€™s rise, her time leading New Zealand through major national crises, and her decision to step down from office in 2023.

For many, the Emmy win is a proud moment for New Zealand storytelling. For others, it will reopen debate about Ardernโ€™s political legacy, leadership style, and how global audiences remember her time in power.

Either way, one thing is clear: a New Zealand political story has once again captured international attention.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Indian-Origin Students Continue Their Stunning Spelling Bee Legacy

Every year, the Scripps National Spelling Bee reminds the world of something powerful: talent is important, but discipline wins.

This year, 14-year-old Shrey Parikh from Rancho Cucamonga, California, won the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee after a dramatic final spell-off. He correctly spelled 32 words in 90 seconds, setting a new spell-off record. His final winning word was bromocriptine.

And here is the part that makes the story even bigger.

Both finalists this year were Indian American. Shrey Parikh defeated Ishaan Gupta, a 12-year-old from Jersey City, New Jersey, who correctly spelled 25 words in the same spell-off format.

But this is not just about spelling difficult words.

This is a story about immigrant families who made education a priority. It is about parents who invested time, patience, structure, and belief into their children. It is about young students who trained like athletes, handled pressure like professionals, and stood on a global stage with confidence.

Shreyโ€™s journey was not straight or easy. He had competed before, finishing 89th in 2022 and third in 2024. He also missed the event last year due to sickness. This year, he returned, stayed focused, and finished as champion.

That is the real lesson here.

Not every child needs to become a spelling bee champion. But every child deserves an environment where learning is respected, effort is noticed, and failure is treated as preparation, not embarrassment.

For many Indian-origin families, education is not just a school subject. It is a family project.

And once again, the spelling bee stage has shown the result.

Congratulations to Shrey Parikh, Ishaan Gupta, and every young student who turned preparation into performance.

Some wins are about trophies.

This one is also about culture, discipline, family, and mindset.
