Round the bays 2026
What an experience.
I parked at the finish line, thinking id have time to get to the start. Turns out i had to run 6.3ks to the start line to make it in time, left me 20mins to rest before the 8.4 overall ran 15ks this day.
I actually had a wave of depression hit me about 3ks in. I asked wtf am i doing this for. I felt s**t, i didnt know why this hit. I started feeling bad about myself, all i could think was there our people doing it hard why am i complaining about something i wanna do. So i turned the music off n stuck to it. Was cool a dude ran past me patted me on the back and said you got this keep going. Funny the back of my shirt said "are you okay" and he was the one who made sure i was okay.
Anyways we finished the race, got it done, had a lovely meal after and felt amazing. I questioned how this run impacted anyone going through it. And realised it isnt just helping them. Its helping everyday people who keep this city alive. Whether you are in front line work or you serve coffees. Either way that run impacted me to keep searching for my own meaning. Loved it
Thankyou everyone who donated and supported
And shoutout for the shirt
Huge cheers
Jacob
