This 5 star hotel is everything you’d expect of a 5 star hotel and so much more.
The rooms are large, tasteful, well laid out with beautiful bathroom facilities, huge comfortable beds and the best pillows!

This hotel is a 2 min walk to the lake front which is equally spectacular at both sunrise and sunset.

Parking is not a problem with valet on site which is discounted if you pre book.

🥗Barrel & Co is your onsite eatery, the breakfast buffet is honestly unbeatable and dinner meals are outstanding too.

🥂Happy hour lasts for two hours daily, the cocktails are 👌🏻

This is Sandy Mount, Dunedin.
This hike is absolutely perfect for sunrise , especially in spring because it’s a working farm and there are the cutest lambs everywhere.

No matter which direction you walk, the views are breath taking.

This might be our new favourite swing bridge, definitely an 11/10.

This is part of the track to Lee’s Creek Hut which is accessible from The famous Rainbow Road , South Island - New Zealand.

Rotorua is famous for adrenaline activities, but this might be one of its best-kept secrets. 🚴💨

🚴‍♀️ Ever raced a human-powered rollercoaster suspended 3 metres above the ground?

The Schweeb looks innocent enough… until you find yourself in a suspended pedal-powered capsule racing to beat everyone else on the track. 😅

Suspended below the track, powered entirely by your own legs, and somehow way more competitive than it has any right to be. 🚴💨

It’s part ride, part workout, part competition, and way more fun than we expected.

If you’re heading to Rotorua and looking for something different from the usual tourist attractions, put this on your bucket list.

🐦🇳🇿 When you realise bag inspection means something very different in New Zealand…

This cheeky weka was determined to search our hiking packs, but New Zealand’s real biosecurity officers take bag inspections just as seriously.

Before travelling to New Zealand, make sure you declare any food, plants, seeds, animal products, dirty hiking boots, camping gear, or other risk items.

💰 Fail to declare a risk item and you could receive an instant $400 fine.
⚠️ Deliberately trying to hide or smuggle items can result in fines of up to $100,000 and even imprisonment.

The reason? New Zealand’s unique wildlife, native forests and farming industries are incredibly vulnerable to pests and diseases from overseas.

So if you’re unsure… declare it. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Now excuse us while this self-appointed biosecurity officer finishes inspecting our packs. 😂🐦

Why is no one talking about Tama Lakes?

Everyone’s out doing the Tongariro Crossing… meanwhile, Tama Lakes quietly delivers next-level views with a fraction of the crowds.

This underrated gem in Tongariro National Park is spectacular year-round, but in winter? It’s pure magic. ❄️
Think frozen streams, snow-dusted peaks, and not one—but two jaw-dropping alpine lakes. Upper and Lower Tama are framed by Mt Tongariro, Ngaruahoe, and Ruapehu—a view that honestly belongs on a postcard.

🗺️ Distance: ~17km return (via Whakapapa Village)
⏱️ Time: Around 5–6 hours return
👣 Pro tip: On the way back, take the Taranaki Falls loop for the perfect finish.

🎒 What to pack for winter:
• Layers! Thermal base, insulated mid, windproof outer
• Waterproof boots (you will cross icy streams)
• Gloves, beanie & sunglasses
• Water, high-energy snacks, and a headtorch just in case
• A camera—you’ll thank yourself later

This is Tongariro National Park’s best-kept secret. Don’t sleep on it.

We traveled over 8,000 miles to meet the cutest raccoons in the world and it was such much more than we could ever have dreamed of 🦝🌴

Raccoon Island in Miami is home to an isolated population of raccoons that have been living here for years. Because of their isolation, they’re completely rabies-free, making them super safe to interact with! 🙌

These little foodies have the best manners and love munching on watermelon, mango, and rock melon—but don’t even think about giving them pineapple! 🍉🥭🚫🍍

They also love some fresh bottled water as there is no natural fresh water source on the island.
Remember to take all your trash off the island with you and pick up any extra you find to keep the island clean for these incredibly cute raccoons !

This hidden gem is an absolute must-visit for animal lovers and one of the most unique wildlife encounters in Miami! Who’s coming with me?
