Unfinished business, mental workload, tiredness as 2024 glides or staggers over the finish line... One of my top Things Not Yet Done is the fondly imagined new embossed cover for a deluxe ( not my favourite word but...) limited edition volume one illustrated...
So in that awkward time between Christmas and New Year I've given myself three things to potter on without actually being in 'work' mode:
-Youtube videos on my book making process;
- Designing an embossed cover;
- Carving a fantasy (gnomes of Aeden) chess set to make moulds from. Here's some images of work in progress:

The limited edition Girl and the Guardian is printed! On lovely Munken cream paper. Only one bound so far, our eldest daught Anna is getting it. Message me to order no.s 2 to 27... Only 27 in this first edition. Marbled endpapers, numbered.
I'm also working on the deluxe embossed and edge carved edition...
Meanwhile , here's a leaf, not a Passportal but a message i scratched down one day at the beach between busy Christmas business...

The Girl and the Guardian ILLUSTRATED is almost out- I've been sequestered for many days (part time anyway) editing and more recently working on the cover... Message me to order a signed first short run edition hand bound by the Narrator and autographed. $25 plus postage, feedback warmly welcomed, before I go ahead and upload to Amazon for print on demand and as an ebook.
This version is condensed, more accessible to younger readers (10 to 13) while losing none of the themes, characters or scenes. 70-plus pen and ink drawings by the author.

Pictured is volume IV, beta copy, which inspires me greatly, as the End is Already... I just need to prepare the Beginning.... Also the long version limited edition, embossed. My brother's copy.
