As of 19 March all gatherings are to be limited to 100 people.

Our policy is:

When making funeral arrangements with families they are to be advised of the 100 person limit and advised that EFS will be adhering to that.

Their options are:

Straight cremation - as usual, with or without a memorial service later.

Private family service. Burial or cremation

Family service with the option of livestreaming. In effect a “normal” funeral service in every respect except it is limited to family only.

The newspaper notice should reflect this, e.g “ A family service will be held and this will be livestreamed at 11.00 a.m on Friday etc etc.
(perhaps include – “The livestream can be accessed by going to www.evansfuneral.co.nz etc etc)

If in the event a family does not want to follow our protocol and want to stage a publicly advertised funeral then they WILL NOT be able to use our chapel.

They will be advised to find their own venue and organise it accordingly.

We will transport the casket to their venue if requested and we will leave.

We will not attend or be directly associated with gathering. They must provide their own transport away from their venue.

You need to be conscious of your own safety.

If livestreaming at a venue other than our chapel is requested then Ken Huberts is the only option. It is entirely his call whether he is prepared to do it or not.

Obviously it will be case by case situation and common sense should prevail.

The service will be guided by Dell Buscke, Pastor Jim McIntosh and the Rev Jack Papuni.

Stars with names of loved ones and a personal message will be placed on the tree of remembrance and will be cremated after Christmas.

If people cannot make the service on Tuesday they are welcome to call into Evans Chapel and place their personal remembrance star on the tree up until Christmas. The service starts at 6pm.
