Attended a wānanga session lastnight at the cabana with some of our Ākonga, based around stage presence and performance hosted by Laughton Kora from the Band KORA! ☺️
Our Kids Absolutley loved it and want more of these wānanga! They learnt so much! Even got a chance to get up and perform. Infront of a different audience, in a different space and on a different stage.
That helped build more confidence and showed our kids that there is so much more out there if you are willing to put in the mahi to grow your authenticity as an artist. They know that now and are hungry for More!

E mihi Ana ki a Laughton and NZ music Hub for holding this space for our kids/moko’s and our Hāpori. 🙏

One of Aotearoa best DJs, DJ Jayrasik and also one of our kaiako doing some work shops with our Rangatahi. What a treat that was! 🔥

Jay shared his many years of experience in the music industry, THE WHAKAPAPA of Dj’ing, his background, how he makes a living out of doing it and what it takes to become successful.

Our Rangatahi are already asking when the next one is ☺️

E mihi Ana Kia koutou ki tō tātou rangatahi mō Te Kāreti o Pāharakeke me Te Kura Tuarua o Tamatea high school.

A huge Congratulations to all of our Rangatahi bands Who entered the Smoke free Rockquest 2024 and performed on Saturday at the heats for Hawkes Bay 🙏 We were privileged to have entered 5 Bands this year.

Results on the Next Stages are Released on Monday the 20th of May. 🤞

Whatever happens from here on in, you should all be very proud of yourselves because we are here at We came to play Music Centre 🙏 Roll on Monday!
