Have you met 'Roughy' our not-so-rough gecko? Even though he doesn't have the usual raised rough scales of the typical individuals of his kind, we think hes super handsome anyway!

Roughy has also just celebrated his 32nd birthday! Yes you read that right! NZ native geckos have been known to live up to 40 years. We think he doesn't look a day over 21 😁

Love geckos? Keep an eye out for them in their enclosures during your next visit, watch for movement with those cryptic barking geckos, they are the same green as the leaves so hide incredibly well amongst the foliage!

Roys Peak, Wānaka – 1,578m of pure "why are my legs doing this?" 😅

Climbed through sunshine, wind, and a surprise winter wonderland at the summit! 🌨️
Fact: Royce Peak isn't the tallest around, but when it snows up top, it *feels* like Everest (minus the frostbite and \$50k fee).

10/10 views. 2/10 feeling in my toes. Would hike again.
