That little Daiwa New Zealand Lexa 300 is doing the damage with the Spartan rod. Has a sweet action and the fish seem to love jumping on it! Couple nice gurnard and panies made for a good day out!

What a carrot isn’t a phrase uttered often but this was a particularly nice looking one! Measured at 47cm.
Topped the day off with a few panies. Tide seem to be all over the show today but that’s fishing. Been great fun exploring new spots each time we are going out!

The Daiwa Lexa300 is the current reel of choice and it’s proving and absolute weapon paired with the spartan rod and sliders.

Do you leave your sounder running on shore? It takes 5 seconds to switch it off on my Garmin 8416. I run a 1kw and these things out of the water transmitting especially over concrete isn’t ideal for extended periods.

That’s why Garmin have made it super easy to just turn it off from transmitting. Increasing the longevity of your transducer and still lets you mark those fishin spots your mates told you about!

Just gonna nip down to the shops has taken on a whole new meaning! The downside is it’s over an hour away requiring a big drive or a boat then drive.

The plus side is I get to drive the stabis multiple times a week 🙂

The boys are so confident on the water now including Ocean tying up the boat at the dock! Not to mention waking up at 0600 to come fishing

Lucky to have the new 2350 for bigger trips an rhe 1850 for quick solo mishes
