Hi everyone, here's the latest forecast from MetService. We are still under a red warning until 9pm tomorrow night with plenty of rain still to come.
⚠️Please continue to avoid unnecessary travel and stay out of flood waters. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through flood water.
⚠️Put safety first and don’t take any chances.
⚠️Act quickly to self evacuate if you see rising water.
⚠️Be ready for power and communications outages.

🔴Heavy rain warning - RED🔴
Area: North Otago, Dunedin and coastal Clutha
Period: 25 hours from 8:00pm Thu 3 Oct to 9:00pm Fri 4 Oct
Forecast: Expect 70 to 100 mm of rain, on top of what already has fallen, with the heaviest falls about the eastern hills. Peak rates of 8 to 15 mm/h. Note that the amount and duration of rain is highly unusual for this area and it may cause major impacts.
Impact: Threat to life from dangerous river conditions, significant flooding and slips. Conditions will disrupt travel, make some roads impassable, and isolate communities.
Action: Do not enter floodwaters and avoid travel. Act quickly to self-evacuate if you see rising water. Be ready for power and communications outages.
