"What do you think it is Kai?"
"It's a spaceship that landed there."
The delights of a five year old who then elaborated on his story as I hung out the washing.
"We could write it and put it in a book Nana".
"Yes we could Kai."
" But I think it is a bit short Nana but take a photo just in case."
And that is the glory of young children just like our grandchildren who are growing up surrounded by shelves of books and regular trips to the library. Their world is so full of imagination and infinite possibilities. It is beyond wonderful, don't you think,?

Absolutely elated today! We watched a video of three fabulous pre schoolers (1, 3, 5 years) enjoying Polar Bear Soup having made it with their equally fabulous Mum. The recipe comes with the wonderfully quirky and highly original book 'Polar Bear Soup' by Mike and Tricia Legg and makes learning to read, and developing the love of books, interactive as well as delicious!

Tricia was supposed to be mowing the lawn but.... the birch tree bark has fabulous colour and texture at the moment and her artist's eye just had to stop and admire. Now how will this pop up in one of Mike's books in the future.. it may just be a colour scheme or is it the glorious skin on one of his wonderful creatures? Mmmmm.

Mike has been photo bombed by Bertie Bear , Snoop and Meddle, and a mysterious beaver you are yet to meet. But Mike Legg is very seldom behind a keyboard so what is he up to? It's all great news! He is checking and signing off his rhyming text before it gets added to the graphics in his new bird book.BUT. the title is still not finalised... although we have had some inspired suggestions. Tricia Legg is on the last leg!!!! of the latest book with fabulous rhyming text by Mike Legg. Tricia has become an expert at drawing and painting kea, duck, pigeon, owl, goose, coot, kingfisher, heron, sparrow and magpie and why? Because this wonderful children's book was inspired by birds fighting over a piece of bread in the garden. No title yet....any ideas??

More birds but what are they looking at and why are they so cross? Is it because they have been caught without their water colours on? Tricia Legg needs to get back to her art work but will they be happier then? And we are off! Sketching has begun, lovely new watercolours have arrived, and planning meeting finished. Now Tricia Legg has 17 art works to complete and the latest children's book will hit the printers. 17!!!! All about birds!!! And it is going to be seriously funny as she has free reign to embellish Mike's amazing text with visual gags.
