These two brand-new local, homegrown books are in stores from today! 📚

Jared Savage returns with another eye-opening collection of true stories that read like a crime novel, and let us in to the dark underbelly of our society - the Underworld.

Hook, Line and Misadventure is filled with wild stories from legendary fisherman Cliff Barnes which he looks back on and thinks 'I must have been crazy'.

Keep your eyes peeled for them in your local bookstore 👀

We won Publisher of the Year! 🥳

Last weekend, we attended the Booksellers Aotearoa NZ conference where we were awarded the Nielsen IQ BookData NZ Publisher of the Year Award.

This award reflects years of hard work, determination and passion from current and past members of our team.

Karen Ferns, our former General Manager, was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for her years of service to the New Zealand book trade.

Michael Bennett was awarded the Libro.fm Audiobook of the Year Award for Return to Blood, narrated by Miriama McDowell.

Thank you to our wonderful team members past and present, our brilliant authors, and of course the booksellers who work tirelessly to support the books we publish.

From the international bestselling author of ANNA O comes a story of secret pasts and buried memories.

WHAT IF A MEMORY COULD GET YOU KILLED?

Imagine the past returning to you in fragments.
A hotel room, a pillow, a lifeless body.

Your ordinary, innocent life upended by one flash of memory.
You can’t remember what led to the crime.

All you know is that you must return to the scene, to the clues that lie waiting in Room 11. But this is a mystery that goes far beyond that room, that night, that murder.

Are you ready to unlock the truth?

HarperCollins: the story of New Zealand’s oldest publisher

HarperCollins is New Zealand’s oldest publisher and is an independently run division of the HarperCollins Group, the second biggest publisher of consumer books in the world. With its headquarters in New York, HarperCollins publishers 10,000 new books a year and has publishing operations in 18 countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, India, and China.

The HarperCollins name began with the founding of J & J Harper, a publishing house set up in New York by James and John Harper in 1817, and the formation of the Glasgow-based William Collins & Sons, founded in 1919. The HarperCollins logo we know today represents the consolidation of the Harper torch and the Collins foundation, to make the iconic red and blue, fire and water symbol - one of the most famous and enduing logos in the history of book publishing.

HarperCollins Publishers New Zealand is proud to publish a broad range of contemporary Kiwi authors including Deborah Challinor, Stacy Gregg, Michele A’Court, Graeme Lay, Colin Hogg, Julie Thomas, Danielle Hawkins, Jonothan Cullinane, Steve Braunias and more.
