Well, this is interesting:

"Halfway through the world’s largest four-day workweek experiment in the UK, 88% of surveyed participants said that it’s working well for their business. 86% of survey respondents indicate that they are likely or extremely likely to retain the four-day work week, while a total of 46% of respondents report some increase in productivity." - Kevin Hurler.

Companies elsewhere have this in place, and the results are increased productivity. Should this be the way of the future?

Now this is funny, but for m,e it has meaning. I don't know how often I come across something and say the same thing!

But. Do I? Do I follow through? That's pretty much a "no". And the silly part is that I have my personal blog that I can use for ranting or finding the humour about whatever I've come across.

The thing is, though, I tend to take the time to work on my business instead of taking the time to write about something totally non-business related but tweaks my interest. And, I should take the time. Because any writing I do is practice honing my skill.

The trouble is most of us choose to work on our business (which we should) without setting aside time for the fun things that give us joy.

I'm sure many of us have come in contact with emergency nurses as some point during our lives, I know I have. I also have a family member who has worked in the emergency department for a while.

Please take a moment to be grateful that we have these tireless nurses who go above and beyond for our communities.

Universal Music Day. This certainly is a day I celebrate.

Like many children, I learned piano when I was a kid but didn't get to love music until I was 14 and got my first guitar and into 'folk' music. My idles were Donovan, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Buffy Sainte-Marie and Arlo Guthrie!
There were many more, but Dylan was probably my number one.

But those were the days of protest songs. And the rebel in me (away from my family) absorbed this type of music.

Now I'm more into blues, jazz and classical, but I still will turn up the volume on my old favourites.

I'm also incredibly proud of my two children, who are true, blue musicians. Both composers. Sam produces compositions in both punk (a couple of bands) and gypsy/swing - Black Spider Trio. And Kate's songs have lyrics that are sheer poetry, with her outlaw-country style band White Deer - 1st album out soon.

When they are home, my house is filled with music. Life couldn't get any better!

I find this very interesting:

Based on modelling of lifetime emissions of vehicles, a Tesla Model 3 needs to be driven at least 21,725 km (13,500 miles) before it’s doing less harm to the environment than its older combustion engine alternative.

Now I’ve done just over 100,000Km in my car, so if I had a Tesla - I’d really be rocking the environmental savings. Can’t wait for the day when electric cars become affordable to the every-day person!

The scene is set in a cafè where you and I have met for a coffee and a chat.
I ask you how your business is, and the conversation goes something like this:

You: “I would like to have more visits to my website.”

Me: “Do you have a blog on your website?”

You: “Well, yes, but I don’t use it.”

Me: “Why not?”

You: “Because I don’t see the point of it, plus I’m too busy with the rest of my business to have the time.”

Me: “I understand. But there is a huge advantage to having a blog.

You: “What’s the advantage?”

Cake arrives at the table!

Me: “A blog post is an asset. It can help you get visitors to your website. You can use it across your social media, such as creating small spin-off posts, carousels, videos, quotes, and even memes. Then, when you have a few of them, turn them all into an e-book and use it as a lead magnet to grow your mailing list. That is just some of the ways you can use it.”

You: “Wow, I didn’t know that. But I still don’t have time. Besides, I’m not that good at writing.”

Me: “No worries, I’ve got your back. Outsource the blog to me, and I’ll write it for you.

You: “Sounds a good idea, but it won’t really sound like me, will it?”

Me: “That’s my secret sauce. I make sure it does. And, you do have full control to make any changes you want. You need to be happy with it before it’s published.”

You: “Well, if I have full control, that sounds like an excellent idea. Tell me more.”

The laptop gets fired up, another round of coffee (and maybe more cake) arrives, and we settle in to have a look at the White Rockit website: www.whiterockit.com

One of the things I do when writing is to avoid any fluff. I like to be specific and use clear, detailed, exact words that don’t allow for ambiguity or misinterpretation. I also like to use everyday words, so my reader doesn’t have to grab a dictionary to find the definition.

You can keep this in mind when you’re writing your blog post = making it easy for your reader to understand.

One of the things I love doing is taking my computer and going to a cafe to work.

In a way, I’m grateful there’s never anything in the cabinet I can eat - every cake, scone, biscuit, tart, and pastry has an animal in it (dairy and eggs are from animals).
As a vegan, I don’t eat animal products.

Why am I grateful? For the purely selfish reason that I’m not tempted to eat food when I’m not hungry! Coffee is ample and surprisingly fills me up anyway.

But it always does my heart good when I find a predominantly plant-based cafe.... not so much for the waistline!

Sorry about the poor quality of the image - I was a distance from the cabinet when this thought struck me.

If you are anything like me, when you sit down to write, grammar and spelling mistakes seem to take precedence over the writing.

When words suddenly get an impromptu underline (mostly red), it intrudes on the flow from your brain to the keyboard.
The best way to fix this is to turn off the spell check or the Grammarly or whatever editing tool you use and simply allow the thoughts to flow.

Once finished, that's when you do the editing. Turn the tool back on and go through to fix the spelling, put in the commas or change the wording.

Doing this you will find it will be quicker to create your articles, blogs or social media posts.

Why not see if there is something you can take a photo of today, No matter how silly, find something that tweaks your imagination or you think it beautiful or bizarre.

We tend to walk through life not 'seeing' the gorgeous, the fun or the outrageous. But if you use your camera, it will open your eyes to these things.

Thought I'd give a wee post about why my content writing is different to others. Yes, it's also a promo post, but it will give you a little more about why I do what I do for you.

My speciality is writing blog posts for businesses so they can keep their websites current and appease the Google (and others) bots as they go about trawling your website for new content.

But it's more than that. With the blog post, you are also able to repurpose it. Now I add four images that go along with four captions which you can use on your social media platforms. You can also link them back to the original post.

But wait, there's more.

The original blog post can be used as an article that can be published on LinkedIn or Medium or any other magazine platform you can use for exposure.
The blog is crafted in such a way that you can have four separate spin-off posts. You can grab a quote from it or even turn it into a carousel post.

I encourage all my clients to use the original post in different ways to get bang for their buck!

Write good content that gives your readers value, in fact, more value than they are expecting. This is what will keep them coming back.
