Read the first sentence of chapter one from John & Paul! 👀

"They met on a hot day in July 1957 - twelve years after the war, ten years before Sgt. Pepper - amid the homespun pageantry of a suburban English: brass band, fancy-dress parades, cake stalls and hoop-la games, police dogs jumping through rings of fire."

Weekend forecast: 100% chance of staying in with a book ☕📚 Here are some recommendations to cozy up with this weekend.

📖 Swap NZ winter for a Greek summer and dive into Ruins by Amy Taylor. A simmering, provocative novel about a couple whose affair with a young Greek woman ends with consequences far greater than they could have predicted.

📖 Corsica, 1993. Seventeen-year-old Séverine is kidnapped, her face plastered all over newspapers and TV, but not for the reason you think. The Bombshell by Darrow Farr is the perfect literary thriller.

📖 One for the history fans. In Start Digging You Bastards! bestselling author Tom Gilling recounts the gripping story of Australians' and New Zealanders' key role defeating the Axis in North Africa – a true turning point of World War II.

Our Campaign Manager Grace reviews not one but two books - perfect for your weekend reading!

On the Calculation of Volume I and Volume II by Solvej B***e

"Can a person lead a life outside of time?

Tara Selter, an antiquarian bookseller, can't stop waking up on November 18th. She describes her experience as having "fallen through the cracks of time", but this is not a science fiction novel in the conventional sense. Rather, it uses a freak displacement in the space-time continuum as a stage for ruminations on existentialism, metaphysics, Roman history, romantic love, ghosts and monsters, and even meteorology.

Throughout the book I kept thinking, where is this all going? Tara's will to survive drives the story forward and keeps you reading – going down different rabbit holes to feed her mind, she saves it from atrophy; through chasing the four seasons around Europe she creates a semblance of normality for her senses. But these are ephemeral, what she truly wants is to find a way out. Just as I'm beginning to lose hope for her, a massive twist ends Volume II..."

On the Calculation of Volume I and Volume II both out now with Volume lll coming later this year!

Happy Publication Day to , her book, No, I Don't Get Danger Money is a no-holds-barred account of what it was really like to cover some of the most dangerous and extraordinary moments in recent history.

'I woke up every day expecting to fall asleep in a different country. A blur of breaking news, airports, body armour, border crossings and bomb shelters. And wads of foreign cash.'
