There is a lot of talk right now about handing content, strategy, and entire systems over to AI. We have taken a deliberate position on it.

What we will not do is hand it the judgement. A model can produce work that reads well. It cannot know which detail carries weight for a particular client, or recognise when something is technically right but commercially wrong. That read stays with the people who understand the business.

We hold that line internally because we see the same shift playing out across the businesses we work with.

For years, part of what their clients valued was access to expertise they could not easily get themselves. The explaining. The options. Making something complex clear. A prospect can now get a version of that from AI in thirty seconds, before they ever make contact.

It has not made these businesses less valuable. It has moved the value from expertise to judgement. Being findable is no longer enough.

The businesses that get ahead will move first on how they position and sell, while the rest are still debating whether AI is a threat.

Most growth targets start at the top.

"Here is the revenue number we want to hit this year."

Reverse it. Start from that number and work backwards to what actually has to be true for it to happen.

- How many qualified opportunities the pipeline needs to be creating.
- What conversion rate the sales process has to hold.
- How much visibility the business needs to generate the right conversations in the first place.

When you work backwards like that, the target stops running on hope and becomes a set of things you can actually build, measure, and lead.

The new financial year is the right time to do that thinking. Before the year continues moving and the number becomes something you are chasing rather than tracking.
