In our parenting journey, we’ve found that in having a guarded time each week to plan and organise our days ahead, has been healthy for our marriage. We both feel understood, loved and respected. When we take this time to come together, we believe we are doing a great thing, raising our son in a healthy, connected and happy home.

Did you know? I had to do a double take when I realised his birthday was coming up. This year has gone by so fast. We hope you’ve enjoyed our Did You Know clips that have featured our wee star. We’ve enjoyed watching him develop and sharing his milestones with you. My wife (a paediatric doctor) writes them, I film them and he makes us both look good. Thank you son. Mum and Dad love you so much.

In honour of Martin Luther King Jr day held earlier this week, I wanted to highlight this quote that I feel is a truth parents may benefit from embracing.

Have you noticed how forgiving and loving our babies are towards us after we have made a mistake or done something we later regret? Our babies don’t seem to keep a record of our mistakes. Yet for many parents, us included, we beat ourselves up and dwell on it for too long. We need to embrace the reality that we will make mistakes. We must learn from them, forgive ourselves and love again, quickly. Then you can love on them again guilt and shame free.

We’re back and we’re stoked! We’ve had loads of family time, loads of rest, loads of sun (thank you Wellington👍) and way too many scorched almonds 🤤. Our tank is full and we’re ready to crack into the year and serve fellow kiwi families.
We hope you all have begun the year well, the commitment to new years resolutions is still there and you’re keen as we are to make this year a good one, regardless of what comes. Wishing you the best year ahead for you and yours. Let’s get it!

I’m sure we don’t need to pipe on about this one. Although it never hurt me to be reminded of this fact and to slow down and be fully present in the moment with my wife and son. Now that we are on a break until next year, we have the opportunity for many moments to be shared where we can create lasting good memories together. So looking forward to it and we hope you manage to lock in some quality family time as well during the holiday season. We are sure you won’t regret it.
