from Kunming, Yunnan province, there is a "girl wearing a Hairpin" appearing in your hometown!
It is actually a wall painting of a pretty girl, with the blooming bougainvillea becoming the girl's flower crown.
The flower and the wall painting formed a unique scene of "flowers in paintings, paintings in flowers", attracting many visitors and becoming popular on the internet.

Do you know these fluffy dolls? They are really a pop-culture sensation in many places including New Zealand.
They are the big-name Labubus, with big black eyes, a pair of rabbit ears, four tiny paws and a big mouth with sawtooth-shaped teeth.
Kate Sabatin has six Labubus and explains her attraction to the dolls. "They're ugly to the point that they are cute. Like they are so ugly they are cute."
Aucklander Sophia Ibbetson is the proud owner of 10 dolls, which she has been collecting since late last year.
At first they were relatively easy to buy, but Ibbetson explained now it was nearly impossible.
Last month she visited POP MART in Newmarket where she saw roughly 200 people queuing for a doll. "There was a huge line that wrapped around Newmarket."
Do you have your own Labubu?

Any friends from Northeast China? There's a special retro "ding-dong car" in your hometown!
On June 4th, in Changchun, Jilin, the hydrogen-energy cultural tourism train "Qingchun Hao"(氢春号)hit the streets. Developed by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles, the special train draws inspiration from the architectural complex on Xinmin Street, a historical and cultural block. The interior features a clivia flower sea theme, which forms a charming contrast with vintage gramophones.
Equipped with a three-level safety-protected hydrogen energy system, the train can travel 320 kilometers on a single hydrogen refueling.

On the afternoon of June 4, a bus carrying a Chinese tour group overturned on the South Island, causing multiple injuries.
In response, the Chinese Consulate-General in Christchurch reminds Chinese citizens traveling in New Zealand recently to pay attention to the changeable winter weather, including rain, fog, and slippery roads. Self-driving tourists should earnestly enhance safety awareness and comply with traffic rules.

Canterbury University researchers are using human tears to develop a world first rapid home test for the detection of Alzheimer's disease.
Experts in engineering, chemistry and biology are working on the project that could be life changing for those in the very early stages of the disease.
Lead researcher Professor Renwick Dobson, from University of Canterbury, said the technology could generate up to $371 million a year for New Zealand companies.
“We'll have a really easy test that people can do in their homes and early detection of Alzheimer's.”
The chip could analyse human tears to detect any molecular changes and bio chemistry researcher Vanessa Morris said the results could quickly "provide a window into what's happening in the brain”.
Looking forward to the wide application of technology!

New Zealand's population could eclipse six million before 2040, according to the latest projections released by Stats NZ.
Stats NZ population estimates, projections, and coverage spokesperson Victoria Treliving said net international migration has been the main contributor to New Zealand's population growth this century, and this is projected to continue.
Two-thirds of the population growth to hit a population of six million is likely to come from net international migration, Stats NZ said, with the remainder to come from natural increase (births less deaths).
The projections also indicated the population will likely increase to around 7 million by 2060, and potentially nearly 8 million by the late 2070s.
NZ's population is currently 5.3 million.

11-year-old Luna Lu(鲁夏菡)from Auckland is thrilled to participate in the upcoming FIDE World Chess Cup later this month.
Born in Hangzhou, China, Luna moved to New Zealand at the age of two. She will join Sai Vivan Karthikeya Somaraju from India in competing at the FIDE World Chess Cup in Batumi, Georgia. The pair will take part in the Under-12 Open and Under-12 Girls divisions respectively.
Despite her relatively short chess journey, Luna has already secured numerous accolades. Notably, she ranked ninth at last year’s World Chess Cup in Georgia.
Her mother, Sandy Wen, expressed pride in Luna’s dedication: "Chess has always been a quiet yet wise guide, leading Luna to discover more possibilities in her growth journey."
Craig Hall, Secretary of the New Zealand Chess Federation, praised both Sai and Luna as "exceptional junior players with outstanding results in New Zealand championships". He added, "It’s a highly competitive field—finishing in the top 10 would be a remarkable achievement."
Best wishes for their success at the tournament! (photo cr: unsplash)

Auckland War Memorial Museum has reopened on the morning of Jun 3 after its closure last month caused by the detection of asbestos.
The museum had been closed since May 10 after asbestos was discovered on the roof and in a ceiling cavity in the original 1929 part of the building.
The building is set to reopen in stages from Jun 3, with the first stage encompassing around two-thirds of the museum.
Sections of the north side – including Te Marae Ātea Māori Court, Pacific Galleries and the Grand Foyer – will remain closed while asbestos remediation work continues.
Air monitoring will be ongoing throughout the building to reassure staff and visitors that the reopened spaces were safe.
Tourists who want to visit can go now. (photo cr: unsplash)

Hey pals! I'm chilling in New Zealand at the moment, but my mind's been whisked away to the super - fun Shijiazhuang Zoo in Hebei, China. 😜

June 1st rolled around, and it was International Children's Day! The zoo was buzzing with excitement. The ring - tailed lemurs stole the show. They were tucking into their holiday spread like there was no tomorrow, and oh my goodness, it was the cutest thing ever! Visitors were flocking around, their faces lighting up as they exclaimed, "How adorable!" 🥰

Watching these little animal cuties have the time of their lives on Children's Day has made my day. I'm itching to jump on a flight and head straight to the zoo to give these little darlings a high - five (well, as much as I can with animals)! 😍
