As a multi-instrumentalist with classical flute and vocal training, Torchie’s musical sensibility allows him to create rich melodic sets and soundscapes. As well as DJ’ing, Torchie regularly performs with Wellington football band Cumbia Blazera, playing flute through effects pedals, vocals, and percussion. He also sings with Wellington chamber choir The Tudor Consort, performing music from the Renaissance/Baroque periods as well as more contemporary work. Torchie continues to explore his passion for electronic music, blending different styles and genres through playing his favourite tracks at venues across NZ such as Moon, Havana, Laundry, and Bedlam & Squalor (Wellington), Lala Land (Wanaka), as well as private parties and events with big sound systems. His musical pursuits have taken him to:
- Tour cathedrals in the UK and France including Westminster Abbey and Notre Dame
- Perform with infamous barbershop ensemble the Otago University Capping Sextet
- Recording projects for film scores and debut works by NZ composers
