We’re back with a trail from somewhere a bit different: Jebel Shams, the highest mountain in Oman 🇴🇲

Last Fall, Devin spent four months living and studying in Oman, a country south of Dubai in the Arabian peninsula. There he met an incredible, hospital people, learned more than a few words in Arabic, and most importantly for us: hiked 14 miles up to the peak of the “Mountain of the Sun.”

Many of you have been asking how you can get copies of the amazing photos from our long hikes. And we listened! For the 2025 Great Glen Way trip we prepared a calendar of inspirational photos from the trail and our follow-up trip to the Isle of Skye.

All of these photos are from our traveling photographer Eric Weber and capture some of the best moments from the trail. We left our the photos of the days where we seem to be standing in a car wash ... but, that's Scotland!

We will be selling a limited number of these through our friends at Inspire EdVentures, and all proceeds will benefit their Conservation Partners mini-grants. Check out the details in the article below

This past summer, we hiked the Great Glen Way, an 80+ mile trail in northern Scotland. We have prepared these 2026 calendars for sale through Inspire Edventures, with all proceeds going to our Wildlife Conservation Partners grants.

For our latest episode we decided to talk about some of the trail tech we use. To start us off we invited Kayla back to talk about the Merlin app and the fun of doing a little amateur birding while out on a hike.

New episode alert! Our trio finally got together this weekend to share our experiences on the Great Glen Way last month. We actually started this journey in 2019 when we hiked the West Highland Way in Fort William.

This story starts in Fort William and takes us along the Calendonia Canal and famous lochs of Scotland to the northern city of Inverness. A wee hike indeed!

Along the way we explored the big questions of life… when will there be beer? Will be see Nessie? Will the midges ever quit?

A special thanks to for another amazing trip.. this was #7!

We are back from an amazing week on the Great Glen Way. This is our third hike in Scotland (West Highland Way and St. Cuthbert's Way were previous), and by far our favorite.

An amazing trail following the Lochs and Caledonia Canal from Ft. William to Inverness. Well maintained with lots of beautiful towns to grab a pint, some food and some rest. We highly recommend! We will be posting a new episode soon on this trail, plus a few articles on our new Substack channel and website.

It may be a little while until our muscles let us go back on a long hike, so we will focusing on some of the shorter summer hikes for now!

We are off the Great Glen Way and exploring Inverness. Decided to take a private day tour of the Isle of Skye, and what a fantastic decision that was! Our guide Andrew from kept us informed on the history and culture of the area - highly recommend!

The views were spectacular all day. Heading to Edinburgh today for one last weekend in Scotland before the long trek home.
