Understanding your end-of-service gratuity can make a big difference when your employment in Oman comes to an end.

Following the Ministry of Labour’s recent circular, has broken down the key rules on End-of-Service Gratuity (EOSG) for workers who are not covered by the Social Protection Law.

From contracts concluded under the previous Labour Law to those concluded under the Labour Law issued by Royal Decree No. 53/2023, the method of calculation can differ depending on when your employment contract was concluded.

Our carousel explains:

• Who the circular applies to
• How gratuity is calculated under the previous and new Labour Laws
• Why your last basic wage matters
• Simple examples to help you understand the calculation

Swipe through the guide, save it for future reference, and share it with someone working in Oman who may find it useful.

The examples provided are simplified for general information and should not be treated as individual legal advice. Individual entitlements depend on the applicable law and employment circumstances.
