Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly unveiled a major developments in a 40-year-old Lynbrook murder case on Oct. 15.

Donnelly, joined by members of the FBI and Nassau County Police Department, unveiled an indictment in the homicide of 16-year-old Theresa Fusco in Lynbrook.

Fusco, who worked at the Hot Skates Roller Rink in Lynbrook, was walking home on Nov. 10, 1984. Less than a month later on Dec. 5, her body was found in a wooded near the roller rink.

Water service has been restored for Lynbrook residents affected by a water main break Sunday on Earle Avenue.

The incident shut down a section of the road in front of the firehouse, with Earle Avenue closed between Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway.

Approximately 60 customers were without water during the outage. The cause of the break has not yet been determined.

Bounding off the LIRR train at the Lynbrook Station, there may not have been a more enthusiastic mass transit advocate than the president of the Long Island Railroad, Rob Free.

His purpose was to tour Lynbrook’s new luxury transit-oriented development, the Langdon, which features 201 luxury rental apartments adjacent to Lynbrook’s Long Island Railroad Station and moments from the Village’s vibrant downtown.

The Lynbrook Public Library has been added to the National Register of Historic Places, the National Park Service announced, making the nearly century-old institution eligible for federal and state preservation funding.
