This weekend I ran a new hot pipe for my kitchen tap, it now goes straight from the boiler to the tap via the most direct route under the bathroom and hallway floors, a distance of just over 6 meters.

Previously it had been connected to the original pipework and put in the ‘easiest way’ possible for the plumber and ran for nearly 11 meters via a bedroom and also including 4 meters of old 22mm pipe.

The tap previously expelled 2 litres of room temp water runoff before the hot water arrived now it’s 1 litre, a saving of nearly a litre of water every time hot water is required. This also saves me approximately 8 seconds of waiting time.

In my world I’m the only person I know that obsesses about this.

My wife asked me if I wanted these track pants as she says she never wears them.
“Sure.” I said. “I can wear them around the house.”
And so it was.
Yesterday I had to go down to the shops and it was then that I first noticed: The pockets on these pants are ridiculously small.
I tried to get my hand in and it wouldn’t even go as far my fist knuckles.
I didn’t want to put my front door keys in there in case they just fell out.
I put my phone, wallet and keys in my jacket pockets and off I went.
Later on, my wife asked me, “How are the pants?”
“They are fine.” I replied. “But the pockets are very shallow.”

Then she dropped the bombshell.

“Welcome to my world.” She said. “Women’s pants are almost always like that, even jeans.”

Wait……WHAT?!

Do the manufacturers of clothing think that women don’t need to carry items in their pockets? THIS IS DISGRACEFUL!
I can just imagine them thinking: “Everything you need is in the kitchen love. Where are you going anyway? Here, have a handbag.”

I know it’s not even vaguely my fault that women’s clothing is designed this way, but I feel somehow ashamed by association on mankind’s behalf.

My Father doesnt have facebook but thought this was worthy to be posted. Everyday during work he will have flight radar open, it started off just tracking different planes throughout the course of the day but hes discovered a fun but also very dull game to play.
When he starts work he picks a random flight leaving his chosen airport for the day. He then tracks that plane to its destination, once its landed he picks a plane at that airport to track to the next airport and so on. But the aim of the game is to arrive back at the original airport from the start of the day using as many flights as possible.

I can finally post this because I gave it to her this morning. Found this amethyst earlier this year near Clayton, Georgia. (Charlie’s Creek/Tate City area). Had it cut by a local lapidary into a 3x10mm oval and set into a sterling silver pendant. Amethyst is her birth stone and one of my favorite minerals. I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out and it’s definitely the gift I’m most proud of giving in my time

This is my living room door. There are many like it. However, this one is mine 😉

Today, due to my wedging it open against the self closing mechanism, it popped off its hinges 🤬.
There comes a point in every woman's life when you have to acknowledge a heeled shoe, a table knife and brute force aren't very efficient. And also that your Dad won't be here forever ☹️.
So around 5 years ago I began purchasing my own tools 👏👏👏
Using said tools, some common sense and some swear words, I removed the door and then rehung it after swapping the screws for ones with larger diameter heads (the screws didn't fail, they were just too small). All.....on....my....own 🥳🎉🥹 The words used to describe this process are woefully inadequate.

I am unreasonably proud of myself and extremely surprised that the door actually fits in the frame and closes correctly.

An exciting day in an otherwise dull, uneventful existence.

I have been cultivating Aloe Vera plants for years. I find it a most satisfying distraction but recently I have encountered an issue which is spoiling my enjoyment. Had I known things would escalate like they have I would never have started keeping them but now I am in too deep.

My original specimen was only about 3cm tall. I bought it from a charity stall. It was 50p and I only had a £1 coin so I bought a spider plant as well for 25p and told the lady who was running the stall that she could keep the change as a donation.

My kitchen window appears to be an ideal place for growing Aloes and my plant not only thrived but produced babys or 'pups' as enthusiasts call them. Reproduction is normally asexual however they also reproduce by flowering.

I had 4 pups which I potted up as gifts for friends and family. My problem is that I have now given away 67 plants and everyone I know has either already got an Aloe from me or from one of the people that I have given one to . In desperation I kept one for myself so now I have 2 Aloes. One is 45cm in diameter the other is 41cm. They will grow to 60cm + and the window is only 115cm so I can not accommodate another. I also have 7 pups to find homes for.

I am going to reduce water and feeding in an effort to slow the rate of reproduction whist I work on the rehoming issue.
