​ Here are few announcements from the hosting team;

1. 💰 Bus fare from Hagen to Tambul is K12.

2. 🧥 Tambul is a cold place, bring yourself warm clothes to keep you warm and remember to bring your own mat, blanket, or anything else you need for sleeping.

3. Don't forget to bring your Bible, notebook, and a pen (biro) so you can take notes.

4. Camp fee for students is K25 and graduates is K50

WESTERN Highlands Governor Wai Rapa has responded swiftly to the ongoing crisis at the University of Goroka, organizing buses to travel to Goroka early morning today to rescue and repatriate Western Highlands students affected by the unrest.

The provincial government’s quick action demonstrates strong leadership and concern for student safety during this tense period.

The full story behind this fight ‼️

Last night around 7:00 PM a student from the University of Goroka (UOG), originally from Tambul-Nebilyer District in the Western Highlands Province, was on his way to attend his district’s closing function. While walking along the highway near the Auto Market area at Okiufa, he was confronted and assaulted by a group of intoxicated individuals who blocked his path. In response, some Western Highlands students retaliated, resulting in a fight that continued into the night. Early the next morning, landowners from the Auto Market area allegedly attacked the students, causing further violence, property damage, and chaos on campus.

The situation escalated rapidly, leaving more than 30 students injured and tragically one of the student from East Sepik Province lost his life. In retaliation, students reportedly burned down two houses belonging to the landowners. Despite the seriousness of the conflict, police presence at the scene was ineffective, with officers reportedly watching without taking action to stop the violence. As of now, tension remains high and the main highway has been blocked. Travelers between Mt. Hagen and Lae are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution!!🇵🇬??

Honey production in Papua New Guinea has received a major boost following the launch of a new state-of-the-art honey processing plant in the Eastern Highlands Province — the country’s leading honey-producing region.

Founder and owner of Helping Hand Honey Producers (HHHP) Kelly Inaie, expressed deep appreciation for the K181,504 funding assistance his company received from the World Bank through the National Government, under the PNG Agriculture Commercialization and Diversification (PACD) Program managed by the Coffee Industry Corporation (CIC).
