Our police officers are expected to protect lives and property, yet many are operating without decent housing, vehicles, fuel, or basic operational support. This directly affects their ability to respond to crimes and control the growing lawlessness in the district.
If we are serious about reducing crime, then we must first empower those tasked with enforcing the law. Providing proper accommodation and logistics will boost police morale, improve response time, and restore public confidence in law enforcement.
Law and order is everyone’s business — but leadership must take the first step.
Soea District deserves safety, peace, and development.

Oro Province Deserves Better — Say NO to the “Don’t Care” Group
Oro Province is not failing because of a lack of potential. It is being held back by careless actions from the so-called “Don’t Care” group who continue to damage public property, disrupt peace, and create fear in our communities.
Vandalising roads, schools, health facilities, and public spaces is not activism — it is destruction. These assets belong to the people of Oro, not the government of the day.
Yes, unemployment is real. Yes, life is hard. But hardship does not justify lawlessness. Many Oro citizens face the same struggles and still choose peace, responsibility, and respect for the law.
Our province will only move forward when peace and order are protected. Authorities must enforce the law firmly, and communities, parents, and leaders must take responsibility for guiding our youths.
If you want development, protect what we have.
If you want change, be part of the solution — not the problem.
Oro is for peace. Oro is for progress.

RE: URGENT LAW AND ORDER ISSUES IN ORO PROVINCE

We, the ordinary citizens of Oro Province, raise serious concern over the increasing cases of killings and violent crimes occurring along the main highways and communities in Popondetta and across Oro Province.

The situation has worsened due to the activities of the so-called “Don’t Care” youth groups, whose actions have created fear, instability, and unsafe conditions for the public. People are now afraid to travel, conduct business, or move freely within the province.

We urgently call on authorities to:

- Establish a Mobile Squad unit for Oro Province
- Deploy law enforcement to secure highways and high-risk areas
- Take firm action against the “Don’t Care” groups and all criminal elements

This is an urgent call from ordinary citizens seeking immediate intervention to restore peace, safety, and public confidence in Oro Province.
