SPORTS UNITING COMMUNITIES THROUGH PEACE & RECONCILIATION
Mt Hagen, WHP — As part of an ongoing Peace and Reconciliation initiative, the Jika Melakamps, Moges Angump and Anducks communities have come together through the power of sport to promote harmony, unity, and mutual respect.
The reconciliation was further strengthened with a Jersey Presentation Ceremony, where Capras jersey sets were presented by Hunters/Capras and Kumul Valentine Richard to the Kunai Brothers of Moge Angump, Bombex Ang Wuu and Ninjas. This symbolic gesture represents forgiveness, renewed relationships, and a shared commitment to peace through sports of rugby league.
In a strong show of true peace and unity, young FPDA Bombex Ang Wuu team was joined on the field by Jordan Pat, a product of Gomia Panthers & Anducks tribe, Hunters/Kumuls who took the field proudly wearing the FPDA Bombex Ang Wuu colours.
This initiative highlights how sport continues to play a vital role in promoting peace, love, and unity, proving that rugby league is more than just a game—it is a bridge that brings communities together.
