Today on my way to work on PMV Bus 9, I witnessed something very upsetting and unacceptable.
The bus first stopped at Waigani, where a young school girl, around 12 or 13 years old, got off after giving the crew K10 and waiting for her K9 change. Instead of returning her money because they had no change, the crew argued with her, kept the K10, and the bus drove off while the little girl was left behind crying.
How can someone do this to a child who is only trying to get to school and one day contribute positively to this country?
I also gave K10 and was still waiting for K8 change, while another girl from Coronation gave K20 and was also waiting for her change.
Later, at Vision City, the crew got off to buy buai or whatever he went for, while still holding passengers’ money for change. Before the bus took off, people were calling out and informing the driver that the crew had not gotten back on yet, but the driver ignored everyone and continued driving off.
Everyone in the bus became upset and alarmed because our money was left with the crew.
Long story short, many of us got off without receiving our change.
This is daylight robbery and it needs to stop.
The plate number for this PMV Bus 9 is P386E.
Please, if this post reaches the right authorities or police units, kindly investigate and hold the men responsible accountable. Passengers, especially school children, deserve respect and fair treatment.
