Today on my way to work on PMV Bus 9, I witnessed something very upsetting and unacceptable.

The bus first stopped at Waigani, where a young school girl, around 12 or 13 years old, got off after giving the crew K10 and waiting for her K9 change. Instead of returning her money because they had no change, the crew argued with her, kept the K10, and the bus drove off while the little girl was left behind crying.

How can someone do this to a child who is only trying to get to school and one day contribute positively to this country?

I also gave K10 and was still waiting for K8 change, while another girl from Coronation gave K20 and was also waiting for her change.

Later, at Vision City, the crew got off to buy buai or whatever he went for, while still holding passengers’ money for change. Before the bus took off, people were calling out and informing the driver that the crew had not gotten back on yet, but the driver ignored everyone and continued driving off.

Everyone in the bus became upset and alarmed because our money was left with the crew.

Long story short, many of us got off without receiving our change.

This is daylight robbery and it needs to stop.

The plate number for this PMV Bus 9 is P386E.

Please, if this post reaches the right authorities or police units, kindly investigate and hold the men responsible accountable. Passengers, especially school children, deserve respect and fair treatment.

Can we leave the RUGBY thing aside, please? we are heading towards crisis. We depend entirely on imported goods. Where are your manufacturing industries.🤔🇵🇬🤷

THE value of the Kina against the Australia dollar and other currencies is significant low, therefore, the cost of imports is higher and are reflected in the retail prices of goods and services, says economist Kishti Sen.

Australia New Zealand Bank Pacific senior economist Sen told The National yesterday that PNG had options outside of fiscal policy (government support payments), to take the pressure off inflation and lessen the burden of costs for households and businesses.

RD - A Silent Killer

When the RD Tuna Canners Corporation first set foot in Madang in 1997, the Papua New Guinea government had envisioned that the company would create employments, landowners would get royalties, the spin of businesses will be distributed to the surrounding communities and as a result it will boost the economy and vital service delivery in the country.

However, after 18 years of sucking all the resources in PNG soils, the innocent Pilipino girl has grew into a matu (leader) of businesses in the country. First it came as a RD Canners, now she has her sister company RD Fishing PNG Limited and other small contractors from Philippines and they also have great influence in PNG politics and economic systems as well.

The company now owns 12 fishing vessels, 7 fishing carriers and it employs more than 3000 people whom she does not see as her strong workforce or the backbone of the company but rather her slaves.

During her establishment, the aim was to produce quality canned tuna products. And yes she does. But where are all these quality canned fish sold to? The best quality canned tuna products are shipped to Europe, US, Japan, Australia, Vanuatu, Solomon Island, Fiji and Sir Lanka. Her waste products Diana and Dolly Tuna are sold here at the local PNG market.

This so-called Asia Pacific’s leading supplier and producer of world class tuna products, RD Tuna in Madang is silently killing Papua New Guineans with its illegal technique of reprocessing canned tuna.

We all know that to reprocess means to process something again or differently, typically in order to reuse it. However, for canned fish if the expiry date has passed the canned tuna’s texture, color and flavor will gradually deteriorate.

But our world-class tuna supplier decides to reprocess these expired canned tuna and produce Dolly Tuna products, which they claimed as best quality canned fish that offers “Healthy flavored tuna delights”. The Dolly product comes in six (6) tuna variants.

Selling the Sepik: Why PNG Needs Fairer Mine Laws Before Frieda Breaks the Bank

By Sam Jay Kaupa

Note: Written without Fear or Favour - National Interest Comes First
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Frieda River Project is currently being served to the Papua New Guinea public as a grand masterpiece of modern development, but if you look closely at the canvas, the paint is peeling and the foundation is made of sand. Prime Minister James Marape’s recent "Look North" excursion to China—a trip characterized by the usual diplomatic handshakes and glossy promises of "transformative growth"—has essentially painted a target on the back of the Sepik River. While the PM returns with tales of strategic partnership, the reality of the Frieda River Project remains a high-stakes balancing act where the government is attempting to walk a tightrope over an abyss, while blindfolded and carrying a bag of arsenic. It is the ultimate exercise in false economic growth, a shimmering mirage of prosperity that threatens to leave the people of the Sepik with nothing but a poisoned legacy.Let’s be honest: the "green light" given by CEPA and the responsible ministry is less a signal of safety and more a surrender to political expediency. We are told, with a straight face, that "measures" will be in place to protect the environment. It’s a charming sentiment, really, if you ignore the fact that the Fly, the Watut, the Jaba, the Strickland, and the Ramu rivers have all been "protected" into various states of ecological ruin by similar government-approved measures. It takes a special kind of audacity to point at a series of environmental crime scenes and say, "Trust us, we’ve got this." The National Government’s sudden deafness to the East Sepik Provincial Government and Governor Allan Bird is a masterclass in selective hearing. Apparently, in the halls of Waigani, the Sepik River only flows through the parts of the country that say "yes" to the developers. The

Will NCDC take over public transportation in the City?🤔 short answer - YES
For my personal opinion, I think it's best we have alternative transportation services operating in the city, both local bus services and NCDC’s like the EDA bus so it will not affect the local bus services and on the other hand it will assist in such a critical time like what we've experienced for the past days. I think it's best we have ALTERNATIVE BUS SERVICES OPERATING IN THE CITY 💯
