Daka, traditionally a coastal delight, has found its way to the highlands! Once limited to the warm, humid coastal regions, this spicy green pod is now thriving in the cool, crisp air of of Wagi area in Kerowagi.

Harvested fresh from the highlands, this Daka is adding a new twist to the beloved buai experience. With its spicy kick, it’s still the perfect companion to Areca nut, creating that iconic red chew. While it stains clothes and litters streets, PNG people just can’t resist the charm of Daka—whether from the coast or now, the highlands!
