๐Ÿšจ COMMONWEALTH POLICE OFFICER JOINS RPNGC INTERNAL AFFAIRS TO CLEAN UP THE FORCE! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) has sworn in Chief Superintendent Steven Harris, a Commonwealth Police Officer, as the new Executive Director of Internal Affairs โ€” the unit that investigates and prosecutes misconduct within the force.

Commissioner David Manning confirmed the appointment, saying Harris brings over 20 years of policing and public service experience from Australia and the Solomon Islands.

One of his first actions is to introduce mandatory alcohol and drug testing for police officers โ€” a strong move aimed at stamping out corruption and unprofessional behaviour.

> โ€œThe use of alcohol and drugs threatens professional policing,โ€ Manning said. โ€œRemoving officers involved in such conduct restores public confidence.โ€

Harris has also partnered with international agencies to bring in modern testing equipment to support investigations.

Commissioner Manning said recruiting Commonwealth Police Officers helps ensure impartiality and accountability within the RPNGC.

> โ€œThey serve under PNG law, are accountable to it, and have no clan or provincial ties that could compromise their objectivity.โ€

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œInternal Affairs is tough work โ€” we police the police,โ€ Manning added.

๐Ÿ“ธ Chief Superintendent Harris has taken his oath to protect the people and uphold the Constitution of Papua New Guinea.

๐Ÿšจ : KOMO-MAGARIMA DDA CEO ARRESTED BY FRAUD POLICE

Komo-Magarima DDA CEO Mark Medai has been arrested and detained by Fraud Police in Port Moresby after being wanted for questioning over a missing K5 million meant for Upper Wagi LLG road projects. Reports say Medai allegedly tried to bribe a Fraud Officer by arranging a secret meeting at the Vision City underground car park earlier today.

The officer pretended to accept the offer, and when Medai handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, he was arrested on the spot. His money and mobile phone were confiscated as court exhibits, and he is now locked up at Gordons Police Station awaiting further investigation.

๐Ÿšจ BREAKING NEWS | FATAL ACCIDENT AT 8 MILE BACK ROAD ROUNDABOUT ๐Ÿšจ

A tragic accident has occurred at the 8 Mile Back Road Roundabout, claiming the life of a driver.

According to initial reports, a Toyota Land Cruiser (Reg: BEY 110) lost control and crashed into the drain beside the roundabout, completely crushing the vehicle.

Eyewitnesses stated that four people, including the driver, were inside the vehicle and were believed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

This is yet another sad reminder of how drunk driving continues to take innocent lives on our roads. ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿ‘‰ Drive safe, think smart, and donโ€™t drink and drive.
