Another brave soul has fallen. Private Ian Bailey of Bravo Company, on duty at the PNG/RI Border, lost his life in a tragic boat accident on the Fly River on 11th October 2025.

A soldierโ€™s life is not easy. They sacrifice sleep, comfort, and family moments for our safety. They give everythingโ€ฆ sometimes even their lives.

Private Bailey was more than a soldier โ€“ he was a son, a brother, a friend. His courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

1RPIR and PNG mourn today. PNG has lost a hero. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ’”

โš ๏ธ DEFAMATION ALERT โ€“
PORT MORESBY / SIMBU โš ๏ธ

Steven Kilage has publicly addressed false allegations claiming he is selling fake land titles. In a strong statement, Kilage emphasized that he has worked 10 years to legally acquire these titles, paying for subdivision, surveys, and civil works.

He called out Bukkani, accusing him of spreading defamatory claims and attempting to tarnish his reputation. Kilage warned that anyone spreading false information has one week to apologize the โ€œSimbu wayโ€ โ€“ or face legal action in Port Moresby or Kundiawa.

Kilage also stressed that his settlements are fully legitimate, unlike cheap K5,000โ€“K10,000 blocks being sold without proper titles.

He concluded:
"You obviously donโ€™t know me. I expect an apology, otherwise see you in court."

๐Ÿ“Œ Take note, PNG โ€“ defamation and fake news can have serious consequences.

๐Ÿšจ PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT โ€“
VIOLENT INCIDENT AT 6 MILE (DHL ROAD) ๐Ÿšจ

A serious attack took place at 6 Mile along DHL Road involving a police officer and security personnel. Reports from witnesses state that Constable Douglas and his relatives were assaulted by a group of Black Swan security guards after a traffic accident outside the Black Swan base. Additional security vehicles and armed personnel allegedly arrived and joined the attack, resulting in serious injuries to Constable Kerowa and his group.

This matter is now under investigation and authorities will identify those responsible.

โš ๏ธ IMPORTANT PUBLIC ADVICE:

Stay calm and let police handle the investigation.

Do not spread false stories that may create tribal or gang retaliation.

Avoid travelling near 6 Mile at night until tensions are resolved.

If you witness violence, do not get involvedโ€”report it immediately.

Violence will only create more problemsโ€”let the law take its course.

We call for peace, discipline, and respect for the law from both the public and all security organisations. Papua New Guinea is already facing many challengesโ€”violence is not the answer.

โœŠ Letโ€™s stand together for peace and justice.

This is a serious CRIME ๐Ÿšจ
In Sepik, some heartless people are using wire catapults to attack innocent women. This is not culture, not discipline, not security โ€“ it is pure violence and a criminal act. These weapons can tear flesh, blind people, or even kill. Anyone involved in this must understand: this is attempted murder, and the law will catch up with you. Real men protect women โ€“ cowards attack them.

To those who own or build these weapons โ€” stop now and surrender them to police or community leaders before someone dies. To the public, help us protect our mothers, sisters and daughters. If you know who is using wire catapults, DM this page anonymously or report to your nearest police station. Do not stay silent โ€” silence protects criminals. Share this now to save a life. โœ‹๐Ÿพ

NINE SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR BEING IN POSSESSION OF SEVEN BAGS OF MA*****NA, SAYS PPC GULF
July 17, 2025

Nine suspects were arrested for being in possession of seven ma*****na (cannabis) bags and are in Kikori police cells in the Gulf province.

Gulf Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Chief Inspector Jefferey Lemb said the suspects were told of their rights and placed in the police cell. They are waiting for their court files to be processed.

PPC Lemb confirmed that the seven ma*****na bags weighed 125.6kg and estimated street value could be around K100,000 in PNG but in Australia could be million dollars.

Mr Lemb said the suspects were apprehended after the police received a tip off that the suspects were transporting ma*****na from Southern Highlands province to be transported to the Western province. He said the four suspects were from the Southern Highlands province whilst two suspects were from the Western province.

Police alleged that on Sunday 13th July 2025, the five suspects from the Southern Highlands province arrived in Kikori on a white Toyota ten-seater vehicle at around 4am with the seven bags of ma*****na (cannabis) to be transported to Daru, Western Province. The driver and the crew of the ten-seater vehicle dropped off the two suspects with the ma*****na bags at bushes at the Ogomabua bridge before entering Kikori station.

It was also alleged that the vehicle looked suspicious so the police who maintained the checkpoint at Kikori searched the vehicle and questioned the driver and the crew. The driver and the crew then gave information on the suspects that led to the arrest of two suspects including the driver and the crew whilst one suspect in the vehicle escaped.

Police also alleged that seven other suspects were on the dinghy to transfer drugs from the land cruiser to the Western province. The two suspected were apprehended on Sunday 13th July 2025 along the Kikori river by the police whilst one caught yesterday Monday and two caught today.

: Prime Minister James Marape has reaffirmed his governmentโ€™s commitment to easing the burden of living costs on Papua New Guineans through a series of bold, people-centred economic measures, including the removal of GST from basic food items, the lifting of the non-taxable income threshold, and the recent increase in the national minimum wage.
