PNG Government Must Immediately Cancel Bougainville Refendum

It's time for Papua New Guinea to take bold steps for our nation's future! We must immediately cancel the Bougainville Referendum and re-integrate Bougainville back into PNG territory.

On top of that, PNG should annex West Papua (currently part of Indonesia) – after all, they share our Melanesian ancestry and heritage.

This isn't just only about unity; it's crucial for PNG's economic expansion and development. Think about the vast land, natural resources like minerals and timber, and human resources we'd gain – all fueling our growth!

Look at the big players: Russia, China, and the USA are constantly fighting and claim more land to exploit resources, boost their economies, and build unbeatable military power. A strong economy equals a strong military – that's the formula.

One day, PNG will have a visionary leader who will turn this country around in no time, catching up to these world superpowers and competing for global domination, just like the USA.

But to get there, we need more land mass, natural riches, and people power to supercharge our economy.

PNG, let's unite and expand – cancel Bougainville's separation and annex West Papua now!

’Neill Challenges Marape: “If I Were Corrupt, Why Haven’t I Been Jailed?”

Wed. Nov 19, 2025 | PNG Online News

FORMER Prime Minister and Ialibu-Pangia, Hon. Peter O’Neill, has strongly rejected allegations of corruption made by Prime Minister James Marape against him, describing them as politically motivated and “emotional rambling.”

In a statement yesterday, O’Neill questioned why, after six years under Marape’s leadership, no inquiry, police investigation, or court action had substantiated claims of wrongdoing against him.

“If I was the terrible, corrupt danger he (Marape) claims, why has he not put me behind bars in the last six years? The truth is simple; there is nothing to find,” O’Neill said.

He accused Marape of using personal attacks as a distraction from the country’s economic challenges, including medicine shortages, a depreciating Kina, and national debt reaching K65 billion.

“The PM wants to make me the problem to cover up his own failures,” O’Neill said, contrasting the current difficulties with the growth achieved during his administration.

O’Neill also criticized Marape for confusing GDP growth driven by high commodity prices with real improvements in the lives of ordinary Papua New Guineans and questioned his political credibility, noting Marape’s eight-year tenure as a senior minister before assuming office.

Challenging Marape to test his parliamentary support, O’Neill urged the Prime Minister to allow the looming Vote of No Confidence (VONC) to proceed, quoting scripture: “Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye but fail to see the log in your own?” (Matthew 7:3–5).

Reflecting on his political legacy, O’Neill said he had nurtured several PNG leaders, including Sir Michael Somare, Sir Mekere Morauta, and Sir Bill Skate, but expressed regret over supporting Marape, who was not ready to hold office.

“Let the people’s representatives speak. Let the VONC proceed. Wok mas go yet,” O’Neill concluded, calling for transparency and accountability in government.
