The latest issue of PNG Air Magazine has made it into the cardiothoracic ward for patients and visitors to read at POM General Hospital!
Nurse Annmarie Steven (pictured) started reading the copy of her friend and cardiac intensive care nurse specialist Loa Erehe last week as they shared a morning coffee at the hospital – and was so engrossed she asked for her own copy!
Two of the stories were written by Loa's younger sister Roselyn Erehe, now a fulltime writer for PNG Air Magazine and who arranged for some more copies to be delivered.
These extra copies have been positioned on the counter at ward 8 for all to read at their leisure.
Thanks to Annmarie for your interest in sourcing some quality reading material for your patients and their carers – we hope you enjoy the issue!

The new issue of PNG Air Magazine just dropped!!
It has some great holiday reading you will want to check out!
Like how a rare blue bird of paradise travelled from a Rigo rainforest to become the most exciting new wildlife exhibit at the POM Adventure Park!
And have you ever wondered about the strange masks of the Gulf's Toare village? We talk to one of the last guardians of the ancient mask secrets as UNESCO moves towards recognising and safeguarding one of PNG’s most endangered cultural treasures.
We also headed out to the streets and marketplaces of POM to ask everyday citizens for their views on PNG turning 50 – and what they think are the main challenges ahead.
So read on....
✈️ Stories of culture, conservation and the voices shaping PNG’s future – all in one issue.

In the process of judging Lily Magazine's Photo Competition we were reminded of Lae photographer Brian Alois' front cover-worthy entry in the PNG Amateur Photography Association's 2015 competition.
His shot - entitled 'Hagen Faceoff' and taken at the Divine Word University's annual cultural show in Madang.– was awarded second place and of course we put it on the front cover of PNG Air Magazine (Vol #3).
Here's the link to the issue and writer Mary Tao's excellent wrapup of the winners, along with a compilation of all the remarkable entries, including winner Zorik Olangi's incredible jumping sunset shot.

I wish the Amateur Photography Association could come out of hiatus and revive this worthwhile competition!
