It was a thrilling showdown between two of the top women’s teams in the MENDI Rugby Football League.

Storms: 1 Field Goal (1 pt) + 1 Penalty Kick (2 pts)

Sara Hawks held strong to edge out KMW United Storms in a close and exciting contest.

What an outstanding clash in the Mendi League yesterday. Both teams came out strong with fierce attacks and solid defense throughout the game. In the dying minutes, JT Brothers sealed the victory with a brilliant field goal, securing their spot in the Grand Final.

They will face Sara Hawks in the much-anticipated Grand Final on 18th October 2025.

It is so sad to announce the passing of one of the rising rugby league stars in PNG, , after sustaining a serious neck injury in round 5 of the Digicel ExxonMobil Cup season 2025. He underwent neck surgery at Pom General Hospital and was in rehabilitation, but unfortunately, his life ended today after being in a coma.

He was one of the humble guys I have come across off the field, and on the field, he became the deadliest man to attack and tackle, but his day has come unexpectedly.

In the rugby community of PNG, we lost this striking weapon that can mostly be remembered and will take time to replace his space he had left.

My condolences to his immediate family members, the tribemates, and his clubmate during this time of grief.

May his legacy remain forever, Champ Amos Roy. 😭💔😭💔
