Port Moresby, 8 September 2025 โ The Sir Hubert Murray Stadium came alive over a spectacular two-day military tattoo hosted by the Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF), marking a crescendo in the nationโs Defence Week celebrations leading up to the 50th anniversary of independence.
The event kicked off on 5 September with a dramatic and memorable opening: parachutists from the Australian Defence Force Parachute School descended into the stadium, setting a high-energy tone for the evening.
Throughout both nights, attendees witnessed a vibrant fusion of music, military precision, and culture. Participating bands and drill teams represented PNG alongside a range of partner nationsโincluding Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Fiji, India, Japan, Tonga, the United Kingdom, and Vanuatu.
