It takes a different kind of courage to wear that jersey, knowing you’re not just up against your opponents on the field, but also the noise from your own backyard.

Our PNG girls stood tall today, played with heart, pride, and courage. The scoreboard doesn’t define them, their spirit does. ❤️💛🖤

Attended the Southern Region Consultative Awareness on the Establishment of Collective Management Rights System and Accession to International Treaties in Copyright, hosted by the Intellectual Property Office of PNG at The Stanley Hotel, on Wednesday, 1st October.

Coming in with little to no knowledge about copyright, international treaties, or Collective Management Organizations (CMOs), this session was a real eye-opener. I learned how these treaties, like the Berne Convention, WIPO Copyright Treaties, and the Beijing Treaty, could potentially benefit PNG’s creative industry once we become members.

It was great hearing insights from people across the creative space during the discussions and panels, which shed light on the real issues we face locally and the urgent need for a structured CMO's in PNG.

A well-structured CMO would ensure that our creatives, artists, and content producers are properly remunerated for their work, not only within PNG but also internationally through recognition of their rights under global treaties.

The session, though trimmed to one day, was packed with value and ended on a high note, a cocktail evening with live performances by PNG’s own Patti Potts Doi, who closed the night with some of his all-time hits.

I saw how the lights reflected off the water on the pavement. Took out my camera, snapped a shot, and thought, “This is nice—I need to take more from different angles.”

Next minute, my phone rang… the rest is history.

Moral of the story: Priorities change as life moves on. Free time doesn’t just appear; you have to create it. If you want your passion to grow, you need to be intentional and make the time for it.

Pro Tip for Upcoming Photographers & Videographers 🎥📸

Please don't take on clients if you're not prepared to give your 100 percent!
If the client is not able to pay you at your asking price, don't take on the job and give 50 percent effort or so; pass it on to someone willing to give 100 percent at the client's price.
To you, it may just be another gig, another quick cash, but to the client, it's a significant event, a historical event that they want captured.
On the other side of the coin, every job is also an opportunity for you to market yourself, that one event just as well may open up pathways for you to bigger events/clients, and from my personal experience I can honestly say this is 100 percent true, Ive done so many small events starting up where I gave my full effort and it lead to bigger opportunities.
So remember, if it’s not worth your time, politely decline. But if you accept it, go all in.
