The people of ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ ๐๐๐ and communities across Lower Guari in the Karuama Valley of Goilala District have witnessed a major milestone in education infrastructure development, following the opening of ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐ฎ-๐ถ๐ป-๐ญ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐น๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ผ๐บ๐ at Guari Meipa Primary School on Saturday, ๐ฎ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ด๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ.
The opening marks an important development for the people of this remote part of Goilala, where access to quality education infrastructure has remained a major challenge for decades. The new facilities were delivered by the ๐๐ผ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ (๐๐๐๐) under the chairmanship of the Member for Goilala, ๐๐ผ๐ป. ๐๐ฎ๐๐บ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ผ ๐๐ถ๐ฎ, ๐ ๐ฃ.
Guari Meipa Primary School, established in ๐ญ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฑ, has served generations of children and remains the ๐ผ๐ป๐น๐ ๐ฒ๐
๐ถ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ถ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ ๐๐๐. After more than six decades of service, the school is now preparing to enter a new phase of development.
Later this year, Guari Meipa is expected to officially transition from a primary school to ๐๐๐ป๐ถ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น, making it the ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐ป๐ถ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐.
The upgrade is expected to ease the longstanding education difficulties faced by students and parents in Guari LLG, particularly those who have had to travel long distances to continue their education beyond primary level.
During the occasion, ๐๐ผ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ป๐๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ, who is also a local of the area, expressed his sincere appreciation to Hon. Casmiro Aia and the Goilala DDA for making the project possible.
Mr Siperi also acknowledged ๐๐ผ๐บ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐๐ฟ๐๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐๐ฑ for its role in delivering the three new double classrooms. He also recognised the contribution of the ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐, the District and Provincial Education Divisions and other partners who provided support towards the project.
Local representatives also expressed their appreciation to ๐๐ผ๐ป. ๐๐ฎ๐๐บ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ผ ๐๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ ๐๐๐ for delivering the much-needed infrastructure. They acknowledged the District and Provincial Education Divisions for providing technical support throughout the process, saying the cooperation between the DDA, education authorities, contractors and the local community was important to bringing the project to completion.
Hon. Aia also used the occasion to explain the wider education infrastructure plans for Guari LLG, saying Guari Meipa is the first school under the current phase of development, with the remaining schools across the LLG expected to be opened later this year.
The Goilala MP said the development forms part of the DDA's broader commitment to ensuring that children in remote communities receive better access to education infrastructure.
He reaffirmed that ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ ๐๐ผ๐ฝ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ ๐๐๐, stressing that the completion of the Guari Meipa classrooms is only the beginning of continued investment in education infrastructure across the district.
Hon. Aia thanked the students, teachers, chiefs, community leaders, contractor and people of Guari Meipa for their cooperation and support during the construction of the facilities.
The occasion also carried a moment of reflection as the community acknowledged the vision of the late ๐๐ผ๐ป. ๐ช๐ถ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ฎ๐บ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฏ, who had envisioned improved education infrastructure and opportunities for the people of Guari.
While the project was delivered under the current leadership of Hon. Casmiro Aia and his DDA team, respect was accorded to the late former Member for his vision and development aspirations for the people.

For the people of Guari LLG, the opening of the new classrooms represents more than the completion of a construction project. It is a sign of renewed investment, opportunity and hope for students and families across the Karuama Valley.
With Guari Meipa set to transition into a Junior High School later this year, the people of Guari are now looking towards a new chapter in their education journey.
Established in 1965, Guari Meipa has stood for more than six decades. Now, with new classrooms and a Junior High School upgrade on the horizon, the school is entering a new era - one that is expected to provide greater opportunities for the children of Guari for generations to come.
