Vincent Taule β A True Legend and Warrior of Enga π..........................................................................
Born and raised in Matupit, East New Britain, Vincent Taule was a man whose legacy crossed mountains and provinces.
Though he came from the coast, he was sent to serve as a police officer in the Highlands, in Enga Province, one of PNGβs most challenging and respected regions.
And he didnβt just serve, he ruled with honour, fearlessness, and strength.
In his time as PPC (Provincial Police Commander) in Enga, Taule became more than a law enforcer. He became a living legend, the most feared warrior and the most respected man across the entire province. His name alone brought silence. His presence ended tribal fights.
"Ol sai, arem nem zol na lusim pait."
(Stop the fight when you hear his name.)
Children stopped crying. Tribes laid down arms. Enga knew, Taule was here. Order had come. He could walk through battle fields and warriors would flee in all directions.
No gambling along road sides
No bush knives in public places. Not to mention drinking of beer and home brew drinks.
At a time when there were no local artists or singers in Enga, people sang traditional songs about Vincent Taule. He was a myth, a symbol of strength, and a story passed from mouth to mouth across the valleys and mountains.
If you donβt know his name, maybe you were just born yesterday. Because even now, long after his service, βTauleβ is a household name in Enga.
Hundreds of Engan children were named after him. He was not from Enga, but Enga claimed him as one of its greatest sons. And that speaks volumes.
Vincent Taule is a testament to the deep connection between East New Britain and Enga Province, a legacy of unity, service, and honour. East New Britain has a history in Enga Province through his service to people of Enga. Enga needs men like Vincent Taule again, especially in times like this.
Rest in peace, fearless warrior.
Your legend lives on.
TAULE, t
