I am thrilled to announce that Lagaip Poverty Relievers Association is the recipient of the German Embassy grant assistance to construct Wanepap Cultural Resources Center building. This project is co-funded by the Government of Ireland through the Irish Aid and Sambe Unity Development Association. It's partnership between the National Cultural Commission and the Lagaip Sangai Festival to preserve, protect and promote cultural heritages, historical objects and documentaries.

It will be a archive for vast collections of rituals, poems, histories, myths and legendaries. It's a center for cultural learning for the children to gain cultural knowledge and insights. It will be our community-based mini museum for preservation of dozens of artefacts and crafts, traditional costumes, objects bearing cultural significance. The building also serves other crucial purposes like fully furnished conference office to provide community-based capacity building programs in partnership with our development partners in the areas of climate adaption and mitigation initiatives, farming, sizeable kitchen for women to engage in local food formulation and room for temporary storage of humanitarian aids, and Sangai studio music and media production among others. The second floor exclusively consists of standard rooms for guests, tourists and visitors. I express my profound gratitude to the Federal Republic of Germany for the allocation of much needed support that will be used to procure entirely the materials required for construction.

Last year, the community group, Lagaip Poverty Relievers Association (LPRA Inc) gave out essential tools to the Tupak sub-clan of Tamagal in the Pilikambi LLG. The Tupak clan was continuously implicated in strings of interclan warfares that resulted in devastation of food gardens, homes and personal belongings. My CBO supplied them the farm tools and encouraged them to resettle with hope of better life. Now it brought a sense of satisfaction when I learned that most of the displaced families have built new homes, cultivated new food gardens and settled well with rest of the community.

The project was funded by the Government of Ireland through its Irish Aid program.

My brother Londe Yowan, chairman of the Wage cultural show and Tony Sulupin chairman of Lagaip Sangai Festival are working on a long mission to rehabilitate Wage LLG in the Kandep district. Although we start from nathing, we have a vision that the children of Wage must access to proper education, health care and safe home. The people in this part of the world have their own story to tell that their livelihoods are not as normal as many families in the rural or urban settings. There are several factors attributed to the negative implications the Wage people are enduring but what am finding it heart-touching is that innocent children and their mothers are longing for better future in light of the fast changing digital world . Therefore, we pledged to work at our disposal to serve these underprivileged people for the love of humanity.

Endangered Species collections//

Lagaip Poverty Relievers Association is collecting endangered species especially cuscus (kepa) and marsupials like (komaip) for it's biodiversity conservation and ecotourism initiative. We are buying the latter with K50 and former with K100-K200 depending on sizes. We are located at Wanepap. If you plan to celebrate your new year with little amount ranging from K50 to K200 per species, try your hunting plans starting today and let me know via mobile phone: 79376834. We strongly discourage mass hunting but capture live animals without disturbing the ecosystem.
Thank you

The foreigners were led to our farm sites and were amazed with the natural environment and rich soil. They commented, God blessed our land but why we are poor? Poor because we don't work hard to reap results but expect free handouts from those who work hard.
