Nursing student leader and recent graduate of East Sepik College of Nursing (ESCON), Naomi Mauludu has dedicated her achievement to her parents.
Her father, late Mark Mauludu was a former Chief Executive Officer of East Sepik Provincial Health Authority (ESPHA) who played a pivotal role in the revival of the nursing college.
East Sepik Governor Allan Bird acknowledged the late Mauludu as the one who pushed for ESCON to be reestablished.
"One of the first things that Mark said to me and the board was that we don't have workers and we can't get them anywhere. We have to restart the school" Bird said.
Twenty-four year old Mauludu told NBC News that she wanted to be a part of her father's dream.
"He did all his best to make sure ESP doesn't fall short of health workers. I wanted to be a part of his dream and see it manifest", Mauludu said.
She dedicated her achievement also to her mom who was an ex-student of the previous Boram School of Nursing.
Mauludu, a student leader, was the recipient of the Principal's award and the Leadership Award of East Sepik College of Nursing.
She graduated among 20 Nursing students with Diploma in General Nursing during the 5th graduation of ESCON recently.
