With the theme βBrighter Future Through Quality Education,β the 13th Commencement Exercises became a meaningful celebration of achievement, gratitude, and hope as graduates officially concluded their academic journey on May 8, 2026.
The ceremony formally opened with a welcome address by Dr. Vicente Ching, School President, who warmly greeted the administration, Board of Trustees, faculty members, parents, and graduates. In his message, he expressed gratitude to the students and their families for choosing PCNL as their academic home. He also proudly highlighted the institutionβs recent academic achievements, including its outstanding 100% passing rate among first time LET takers and the Criminology programβs recognition as one of the top performing schools in the region during the most recent Criminology Licensure Examination. To further strengthen the institutionβs commitment to academic excellence, the president also announced a β±100,000 incentive for future board exam topnotchers.
During the Presentation of Candidates for Graduation, the deans from the different departments proudly presented their graduates, recognizing the perseverance, dedication, and hard work that led them to this important milestone.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the introduction of the Guest Speaker, Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Serving as the 60th AFP Chief of Staff since July 19, 2023, Gen. Brawner is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy βMakataoβ Class of 1989, where he graduated as salutatorian. His distinguished military career includes earning three masterβs degrees in management and strategic studies, along with numerous awards recognizing his excellence and servant leadership.
In his inspirational message, Gen. Brawner emphasized the importance of honesty, integrity, discipline, and patriotism. He reminded graduates that true character is revealed by βdoing what is right even when no one is watching.β
He also shared inspiration from the book β12 Things You Can Do for Our Countryβ by Alex Lacson. He encouraged everyone to become responsible citizens by following traffic rules, paying taxes honestly, asking for official receipts, supporting local products, speaking positively about the Philippines, respecting public servants, disposing of waste responsibly, supporting churches and communities, voting wisely, treating employees fairly, helping underprivileged children, and becoming good parents.
More importantly, he urged the graduates to serve the nation with integrity and purpose. βMove forward, but do not be in a hurry to chase success. Make yourself useful to the country, because in the end, your service and character will define your future,β he said.
He concluded his message by encouraging everyone to love the country not only through words, but through meaningful actions, while continuing to value faith, family, and community.
The ceremony concluded with pride and inspiration as the graduates took another step toward their dreams, ready to serve, lead, and contribute to a brighter future for the nation.
