The official logo of the First Diocesan Synod of Butuan reflects the spirit and journey of the Diocese as it gathers in communion, listens to one another, and discerns together under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Inspired by the words of Ezekiel 36:26, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you,” the logo expresses the prayer and hope of the First Diocesan Synod of Butuan: a Church renewed in heart, spirit, communion, and mission.

15th of August, 2026

"St. Tarcisius, faithful servant of Christ, help us love and serve Jesus with courage, humility, and devotion. Guide all Altar Servers to serve with reverence and joy. St. Tarcisius, pray for us. Amen."

Today, the Church joyfully celebrates the Feast of Saint Tarcisius, a young martyr of the early Church and the patron saint of Altar Servers and First Communicants.

During a time of intense persecution against Christians in Rome, Saint Tarcisius courageously volunteered to carry the Blessed Sacrament to imprisoned Christians facing ex*****on. On his way, he was confronted by a crowd that demanded to see what he was protecting. Refusing to surrender the Holy Eucharist to desecration, he held the Sacred Host close to his heart and endured a violent assault, giving his life to protect the Body of Christ.

As we celebrate his feast day, may the heroic example of Saint Tarcisius inspire all altar servers and young faithful to serve at the altar of the Lord with reverence, courage, and a deep love for the Most Holy Eucharist.

"Holy Mary, Assumed into Heaven, pray for us, that we may follow your path of faith and share in your heavenly joy. Amen."

Today, the Church joyfully celebrates the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, honoring the belief that at the end of her earthly life, Mary was taken body and soul into heavenly glory.

As the Mother of God, Mary was uniquely preserved from sin and given the grace to precede us into eternal life. Her Assumption serves as a powerful symbol of hope and promise for all believers, showing us the glory that awaits those who faithfully follow Christ.

As we celebrate this solemn day, may Our Lady's complete trust and total "Yes" to God inspire us to live with deeper devotion, steadfast faith, and an unwavering desire for eternal life with God.
