With determination and teamwork shining through every rally, Aznica Lachica and Kesiah Jewel Retubis, representatives of the Central Visayan Institute of Aklan Inc. (CVIA), proudly claimed 3rd place in the Women’s Badminton Doubles held at P&F Shuttle Badminton Center, Cerrudo, Banga, Aklan, on October 12, 2025.

Despite facing tough opponents from schools known for their strong badminton players, the duo fought back with focus and strategy.

“At first, I thought we couldn’t do it because our opponents were really strong — their school is known for great badminton players. But when our scores started to tie, I told my doubles partner, ‘Let’s take this chance and win the first game,’ and we did — not just the first, but also the second set,” shared Kesiah Retubis with pride.

“It was fun even though I felt nervous since it was my first time playing badminton in the district meet. I really enjoyed the game and I’m thankful to Sir Randy for motivating me and teaching me until I improved, she added expressing her gratitude and experience.

They also extended their appreciation to their coaches and mentors for their constant encouragement and support.

“I’m super thankful because we reached the championship match! Thanks to Sir Randy for motivating me, to Ma’am Elvie, Ma’am Lyka, and especially to Adora for guiding me during the game. I know she's proud of me,” added Retubis.

Their coaches are Ms. Elvie B. Castro and Ms. Lyka S. Peralta
