✅ Big win on the dev side today!

I started troubleshooting a cURL error (timeout after 15 seconds) while trying to get Gemini AI to respond during a PageSpeed test. After investigating and cleaning up the request payload (removing \n and restructuring the body), the issue was fixed and the API finally responded correctly. 🚀

Now, after every performance test on my staging site, Gemini AI analyzes your results and provides personalized optimization tips — whether you're struggling with performance or already near a perfect 99.

At Mary Eltresse Web Specialist, we're working on a new feature for our WordPress toolkit: integrating Google Gemini AI to generate smart, tailored suggestions based on your site's PageSpeed performance.

✅ Imagine this:
You check your site's performance score, and AI instantly tells you what to improve — no guesswork, no generic tips.

But right now, here’s what we’re debugging:

cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 15002 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

This means our staging server can’t connect to the Gemini API — likely because of local or firewall restrictions.

🧪 We’ve tried:

Increasing the timeout

Verifying the model and API key

Checking outbound connectivity

Next step? Moving testing to a more open environment where outbound API calls aren't blocked.

I’ve been working on a new feature for my website, and I’m excited to share a quick look! 🙌

Using the PageSpeed API, I tested the staging site — you’ll see a short video below showing a loader animation followed by the performance score of the dev site in real-time.
