Instant Funk was a 1970s-1980s disco band best known for their classic "I Got My Mind Made Up (You Can Get It Girl)." Originating in Trenton, New Jersey, the band members included Raymond Earl, Scotty Miller, and Kim Miller. Initially called The Music Machine, they served as a backup band for acts like The Manhattans and Bunny Sigler. They later supported stars such as Lou Rawls and The O''''Jays.šøš¼š¶In 1976, they moved to Philadelphia and released their debut album, "Get Down With the Philly Jump." Their hit "I Got My Mind Made Up," released on the Salsoul label, topped R&B and disco charts and reached #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1979. Scotty Miller passed away on April 11, 2017, at age 65.
